    What is the significance of arstechnica benchmarking the 3 macs with the following ram configurations:

    iMac Core Duo: 512MB
    iMac G5: 1GB
    PowerMac G5: 4.5GB

    Wouldn't such a large difference in the ammount of ram have a significant impact on benchmarks?

    i think it's a bit more complicated than that. apple is as much a software company as they are a hardware company. yes, some people buy macs because of the superior hardware, but the main reason is the software. mac os x != dell restore cd

    this is not a dupe, the article you linked to was about google VPN access. there were clues that google would be creating an sf wifi network, but this article confirms it.     sometimes you will read about how the most accurate clock in the world is accurate to within 1 second every 30 million years or so. if it is already the most accurate clock, how would they know this?

    That option only creates a local html file, so the end user would still need a ftp client to upload the files to a server. And this process isn't even compatible with their own blogger, which seems like a huge oversight.

    Note: this is only relevant if you want to upload entire albums to blogger because their 'hello' software allows you to upload individual photos just fine.

    i don't think a bittorrent-type solution would work very well because bt was designed for the transfer of relatively large files. the fixed cost of having to negotiate a connection with peers would probably be larger than the tiny individual rss feeds themselves.

    Thank you. The writers of the FMA left the wording ambiguous for a reason. If you read it carefully, you will realize that even if a state explicitly amends their Constitution to read, "Civil Unions shall have all the rights of Marriage," the FMA will render it unenforceable.     That last clause is widely considered to be a ban on civil unions:

    "Neither this Constitution, nor the constitution of any State, shall be construed to require that marriage or the legal incidents thereof be conferred upon any union other than the union of a man and a woman."

    Bush is being inconsistent by supporting the amendment while claiming that he is for civil unions.

    Why is this modded Informative? The parent is implying that these 2 women developed a mutation that made them immune to the HIV virus. This is a total misconception of how evolution works. This is not a comic book people, Evolution works as trends within species. The mutation described in the article is clearly a coincidental mutation that came about much earlier, not one that evolved due to the current 25-year-old aids epidemic.

    Sites such as these are operated out of Russia where a loophole in copyright law allows them to treat such download sites as if they were radio stations. Artists do not receive revenues from sales.
