Yes, and it's not FireFox... I like the new look, but it still feels fat and slow.

  2. Still not the fastest browser... on Firefox 3.5 Benchmarked, Close To Original Chrome · · Score: 1

I really like FF, being a web developer I use many different browsers, but ever since Google Chrome was announced I have been using that. Within the last few months I have been using the Chromium daily builds as my main web browser (completely stable, I might add) I like Chromium better than FF because it is clean, simple and fast. It takes the focus away from the browser and puts it on the content, I just wish they'd sort out fulscreen browsing :D

They both use Webkit for rendering web pages, except that Chromium replaces the JavaScriptCore component with its own faster "V8" Javascript engine, thus making Chrome/Chromium Faster.

I think this person is the only person of his position that is actually seeing reality. All he has done is stated the plain obvious. But it goes further than that, he (and everyone else) needs to realise that downloading is a very convinient method of distribution, I would much rather download a film or album than go out and look for it, or even order it from Amazon. Within the next few years ISPs should be providing (from what I read) 10Gb/s speeds, this is faster than USB 2.0... With that kind of speed it will take people less than an hour to download a full Blu-Ray disk, I think you get my point...

  7. Guest Account on Keeping a PC Personal At School? · · Score: 1

I was in a similar situation, the only difference is the other people are my family :D What I did was add a guest account that had no write access to anything (except for its application data, not even My Documents), put all of your menu items in your user's menu folder and wipe everything from the global menu items, put the applications you want them to have access to in their own menu folder and change the permissions to it is not writable to them. Basically all they should need is a web browser, so put one in the start menu and maybe quick launch menu so they can launch it, but nothing else.

But wouldn't it be cheaper to buy an X-Box 360 for £160? I am no X-Box fanboy, but it does run games well, and looks good doing it (Bioshock water effects FTW). What I am trying to say is, you could buy a gaming computer for £500 ($800) or you could buy a games console for £160 to £300, and it will look better on your HDTV. Besides, every time you buy an X-Box 360 M$ actually loose money, they only make it back on the games, so, everyone could chip their X-Boxes, pirate their games and seem M$ crumble :D

I set up two VMs each with 1GB of RAM and access to a single 2.4Ghz CPU and 20GB of HDD space. When Windows Vista first boots (completely vanilla) it uses 6**MB of RAM; Windows 7 uses 6**MB of RAM when it boots initially, but then suddenly drops to 360MB of RAM. I did't notice a performance difference between the two VMs though to tell the truth.
