[fast] to facilitate takeoffs... can you explain this to me? i'm assuming that you're referring to the take-off of the planes...why would a carrier need speed for that?
Unforgiving short runway. Check. that is true, but keep in mind that airplanes trying to land on carriers are 'snagged' by a cable when they land. the pilot, right when he touches down, will hit the afterburner to give him enough speed to take off the runway again, just in case he doesn't 'catch' one of the three or so cables.
unforgiving short runway, yes. but you'd be crazy to think they only get one perfect shot at it.
Madam (if that even applies), I find your comment hard to believe, mostly because i see your signature as totally paradoxical. Please either fix your sig or start commenting about other made-up things, such as unicorns or the tooth fairy.
Where in the bible does it state that the earth is 6000 years old? Can you please quote this?
It's somewhere near the back. between the appendices and the bibliography...
'die' (pronounced dee) is like the English 'the', except the German variant has 3 of them, one for female (die), male (der), and neuter (das). Added to that, you use 'die' when addressing more than one of something, like 'die autos,' hence "those" in the translation.
as for the 'more spammer' part, that makes no sense; I'm curious how Babelfish arrived at that.
and as a side note, the Sideshow Bob bit was grammatically incorrect. Bart is male, the correct phrase would have been "Der Bart, Der." Watching that episode in Germany (translated and all) made even less sense, I could not fathom how they arrived at the 'Die Bart' part, as the German word for that would have been 'stirb.'
for the more tech savvy, i recommend making an image of a harddrive after the OS and whatever other programs have been installed. I did this for my mom's new computer; i reloaded XP (it came with vista home or something along those lines), installed all her favorite programs, set them up, did a virus/spyware scan, etc etc. after everything was said and done, i loaded Acronis True Image, made an image, and burned it to a boot-able DVD using their boot image.
So now, if there is some weird software glitch or she installed / uninstalled too much crap, i just tell her to back up all her personal documents, pop the dvd in, reboot the computer and voila. a few screens and clicks later, she's back to how it was when she first got it.
seriously, that little app has saved me so much work and time. (not a slashvertisement! i don't work for them, i swear!)
nope, i happened to play the german version back in the day....robots and black 'blood'... however, there was an easy way to change that in one of the config / ini files (or a command line switch, etc) oh the memories....i wish they'd make an updated version of carmageddon (or something like it).
when i started learning english (german is my native tongue) i was amazed by the same thing, just the other way around. I wondered how english sentences could possibly make sense with all the 'meaty' information in total dis-array. however, speaking both languages (mostly) fluently, i came to realize that it doesn't really matter that much.
so i, as a non-citizen, having served 4 honorable years in the Marine Corps, supporting myself by working and getting an education, paying my taxes and social security, should not have any rights? thanks.
i've been thinking about that too, especially about the life that resides at the bottom of our oceans.... how interesting (and suicidal, but bear with me) would it be to somehow drain all the oceans of water just to see what's left over...
kinda OT, but something that came to mind recently....
why can't manufacturers make hardware (esp NICs) with basic 9x/xp/*nx drivers on a ROM chip? It would be so much more convenient than having to 1) (if you're lucky) have the original disk / CD, insert, and install drivers or 2) download the drivers on another machine, burn to cd / copy to disk, walk it to the other computer, etc etc...
I received one of those official letters in the mail from the VA stating the jist of what the original news article talked about. Although I wasn't surprised that I got it, it still made me feel uneasy knowing that someone out there has mine (and countless others') information. I'm relieved to see that the laptop made it back...whether or not my information is still out there is another story....
wanna see another hidden feature? check out this trailer and look for the monkey (about 2/3 of the way through) and scroll back a few frames...(use *click click* pause play pause) for a hidden treat:)
the internet would not be where it is at today if it weren't for porn. I would bet money that if porn didn't exist, most people would still use dial-up connections as broadband would be too expensive or inaccessible.
the same goes the other way though...i would argue that the internet has driven the demand for porn.
reminds me of when i was dicking around with talisman, nextstep and (mainly) lightstep (i think that's what it was called). i remember screwing around with the txt config files, making my own lil buttons for shit, having menus pop out here and there, align it all just nicely and having my desktop look, uhmm...cool. then i realized i was spending way too much time preparing the eye candy than actually using my desktop productively...though you could argue that doing that was a creative and productive...(just not very useful)
oh, the memories...i'm glad i'm over it. (cold turkey withdrawal was a bitch though)
if you're interested in DJ sets, check out newmixes.com, they have a good selection of updated live recordings, easily downloadable, etc.

"nevertheless this are sufficient the court in the available case, not."
sorry, i could not stop giggling when i read this...reminded me of Borat... "this is suit is black not"
but on a serious note, this more aptly translates to "however, this was not sufficient to the court for the case in question"
"Dinner, a movie, and a whole lotta wine. Giggity-giggity-goo!"
by dinner meaning, we'll be having sex...
by movie meaning, i'll be taping it.
(thank you Ladies' Man)
i'd like to see if they guess-timated / inflated the enterprise licenses number....
A: "let's see here....2000 companies with an enterprise license....let's count them at 10,000 individual ones"
B: "brilliant"
the idea sounds nice on paper, but who will actually benefit from this?
so i, as a non-citizen, having served 4 honorable years in the Marine Corps, supporting myself by working and getting an education, paying my taxes and social security, should not have any rights?

too much to ask for?

if you want to be grammatically correct, it's *die* Autobahn, not das.
;)
and yes, IAAG
"...fuel cells that can run off glucose and sewage. Although these microscopic organisms are remarkably efficient at producing energy..."
any fore-seeable problems with waste? i'm sure not *all* of the fueling material will be transformed...there oughta be some nasty by-product...
look here....

mod me OT if you wish...i thought it was funny.
if you're ever curious about anything relating to ninjas and you want a straight, no bs answer, you can always ask a ninja.
i'd even take it a step further than that...
