I didn't say they exagerrated or anything. I said they left out facts and they did. It's like me saying i saw john kill joe but leavinging out the fact that joe was about to kill jake. Both statements are true, but context is important here obviously. In one sentence he's a bad guy, the other he's defending someone else. This is what michael moore has did with bowling for columbine and i assume he did it with his new one as well.

this administration has completely abused our faith and apathy.

ours? who is ours? you and people who agree with you? sure. But many people disagree with you completely. I believe that he is doing things because he thinks they are the right thing to do. I haven't seen any lies that bush has used. I've seen plenty of people claim he's lied, but haven't backed up those claims at all, or atleast with evidence that was relavent and not easily disproved.

But go on living in your fantasy world that michael moore is a saint or whatever you want to belief. Michael Moore has made his fair share of money off of Columbine and now 9/11 by lying and decieving. Well i haven't seen farenheit 9/11, but he did seem to already start off on a bad leg by stealing his title from Fahrenheit 451. And according to Ray Bradbury, Michael Moore lied to Ray Bradbury as well. An update to that article, apperently moore never contacts Bradbury after saying he would. Another Lie? go figure.

Funny thing about this moderation is /. is basically doing what it decries people like bush for doing. Pot meet kettle.

It's kind of like how people say linux is so much faster than windows. Well you can tweak the hell out of it for sure, but a default install comparing windows xp and redhat and suse, windows is faster, runs faster and smoother(again in my case). ALl of this would however, be trivial if i could run games on linux. America's Army works nicely on my linux partition, and so does teamspeak with it, but other than that? tuxracer? which runs better under windows than under linux again. I love linux and OSS, but the biasedness that so many people around here have against closed source is incredibly ignorant of reality. And btw, something being generally better is an opinion, not a fact. Atleast at this point.

I'd laugh, if it was good i'd play it.

Or how about a game that let you play as Osama Bin Laden. How do you suppose Americans would like the game? Would there be a public outcry? Would the government try to censor it?

Well i wouldn't play that. Maybe i would 30 years down the line after al-queda and osma are ashes of corpses. But I doubt the government would censor it, i bet what would happen is that retailers would refuse to sell it because of fear of backlash. Some government officials, however, might decry it. IMO that is exactly how it should happen.

Keep living in make-believe land that canada is so superior to the US in terms of it's civil liberties. ANd your wife is scared of going to the us? ANd this law is so big.. i mean there's a crime and a cop thinks i might be involved and he can now ask my name? holy god almighty not my name! I don't have to have id or anything, he can just ask for my name.. Call me a neo-con but i think that is quite resonable.

That said, the article -- while scary as hell -- just seems like small fries now. I wasn't aware American citizens really had any rights left after W got through with them.

Yeah that's right. Everyone blame our president for problems which we don't even have except in the minds of some people who take something like this and make it into a 'we have no civil liberties anymore' argument.

Actually I've crossed the border a few times, the US side asks me some questions and lets me on my way, I believe they take a picture of the car and license plate but i dun't recall them doing that even. THe canadian side asks me similiar questions, types stuff into the cmputer (I believe it's our responses but I really don't know that even) and takes a picture. Of course i'm a US citizen so it might be different for a canadian or especially someone from another country, but i don't think it's much different. I will say tho, the canadian police have been a bit nicer, fitting right in with the stereo typical canadian, which is about as accurate as it is with a us citizen.

One thing that's nice about /. is i can read articles like this, then the posts, then i can return to the reality that i ahve a good life where i'm as free as i should be.
