  3. I remember that scene on Balancing Choice With Irreversible Consequences In Games · · Score: 1

    **SPOILERS!**

I remember that scene, and it was the worst scripted part of the game; not only do all the main characters *suddenly* hop onto a shuttle for NO REASON (other than to avoid their capture / death) when you start whatever mission you were planning to do, but once they've gone (including Shephard) and the attack begins, control of the game inexplicably shifts to another (albeit cool) character. It makes no sense what so ever, seriously disrupts game flow, and was the only thing I disliked in that game. I think OP should play more games so he/she can tell when something fishy and out of your control is about to happen (e.g. end of HL2 EP2), to me the biggest hint that bad things were about to happen was the departure of every single well known character from the Normandy on a shuttle to do the next mission, when there was no reason to do so.

You say this, and although it is mostly true, there are aspects to 4chan other than horse porn and pedobear. For example, yesterday I went to get bindings for the snowboard my wife bought me for christmas, and before I left I asked anon on /sp/ (sport) for some advice on bindings and snowboarding. I got a decent number of replies and even a badly drawn but helpful MSPaint diagram on how to learn turns. So it's not quite *all* rubbish. The advantage of asking 4chan over other boards being that you are guaranteed a reply in about 1 minute or none at all.

The government did not decide that people in my country shouldn't carry fire arms, the people decided that, on account of them being dangerous, and people generally being stupid, especially when in possession of an object that can push people on an ego trip over the edge.

One does not need to live in a city to be safe from wildlife that wish to eat you.

Of course I'm being defensive, you're the one with the gun buddy, but may I point out that some people may decide that "deem necessary" has a broader meaning than carrying your piece through the woods full of things that like to eat you.

Continuing from the previous point, perhaps my insulting of you and your people was jumping the gun a little, and I apologize for being a little trigger happy.

I was referring more to carrying a gun in every day life when you don't need it - i.e. protecting yourself because other people might be packing a firearm, which you probably knew of course, but decided to make your argument anyway.

As for having a clue, I would wager I have more of a clue than you, as my choice of place to live does not involve a walk through 1.2 km of forest full of things that want to eat me, but to each their own. Finally, killing off all dangerous wildlife in the world would certainly be a herculean task, but perhaps we can start with the gun wielding hicks such as yourself, and move on from there.

Most of the people in my class didn't think that Math was *that* important for game design... On the flip side, I've also met one of those profs with tenure whose class I had difficulty understanding because he didn't seem in the slightest bit interested in teaching it.

The worst thing is, the "Creatives" (as Wired magazine et al calls them) actually believe that they're doing something worth while. The fact that they think that "creative" is going onto istockphoto.com (the i is there to draw the soulless tight jean wearing hipsters in) and pasting a load of stock photos into a comp in a psd, dropping a few shadows and making the font large and thin is soul destroying. And the worst part? I have to animate it all. The latest fad in flash is 3D, so naturally they want every fucking piece of information presented in 3D some how, nevermind that Flash is disgustingly awful at rendering any kind of 3D. Argh. Sorry, I had to vent, I'm better now, maybe one day I'll find a job as a 3D graphics programmer like I always wanted (but not on iOS, please Christ, not on an Apple product, I want a real device).
