I guess the point of your post is to say that the top poker players usually win thanks to psychology and good - but not perfect - technical skills, basically. Against a comp (expected to be 100% accurate statistically, if well programmed) those top humans will fail, the way Kasparov lost against powerful machines. In this case, the AI under the hood, if limited to statistics, is not so elaborated.

  9. The actual problem was the name. Folks at the justice dept thought the "touch Bar MBP" aimed at helping the Bar exam. Had Apple selected another name, like "touch panel" and everything would be fine.

No need of DRM. People who buy vinyl want to listen "vinyl" (and vinyls are much harder to duplicate, compared to a CD or a file).

I'm trying to figure out why the heck anyone would want to do that, since both Mac and Linux offer a complete (and superior) shell already.

Because Cygwin now includes Wine as well.

  16. Do we need AI to play poker? A traditional program made by a dev well aware of both poker rules and probabilities should be more than enough to defeat mere humans.

  17. Well, you need to know at least good arithmetic rules, and have a scientific thinking. Besides, no need to be expert in maths.
