  1. I hated Quark 20 minutes into their installation on Quark CEO Abruptly Resigns · · Score: 1

Quark had the most unintuitive, customer-hostile installation and registration process of any software company I've ever used. Good riddance, I use InDesign now, and have for a few years.

I do everything I can to spread the word that this guy is a class A dunce and some people I talk with are coming around and wising up. You can't afford to be utterly clueless about tech in a tech-driven world, it's starting to spill over into our basic rights for crying out loud!

I just finished "Foucault's Pendulum" and, while it was indeed chock full of arcane tidbits and esoterica, as a novel it plain sucked. Oh sure, the secret rite in the museum *yawn*, hoo boy that sure wrapped things up didn't it? Throughout the book, while well written, I kept getting the impression that Eco was trying very hard to impress someone - his readers, his publisher, whoever. So such clauses are covering this benefit.

Excuse me? So can I demand compensation from my employer for all of the years of my education, family life, character-building lessons, etc because they've benefitted from all of that in my current position and obviously I haven't been paid for those things! Get your lemming head out of your A$$, we will all end up as slaves with this kind of lazy submissive attitude. Yes there are these ridiculous clauses in employment agreements, but you're a joke if you knowingly sign on to such drivel. A job is a job, it pays the bills. They don't OWN YOU.
