Many of us who exercise regularly don't do it for the runner's high, but because it can be meditative. Speaking as somebody with ADD, having even a small portion of my brain dedicated exclusively to one task gives me a kind of clarity I haven't found anywhere else.
Framing it this way is typical of a mindset that is depressingly endemic in our culture. We do not have a shortage of prisoners, we have an excess of prisons.
This guy's got the right idea. IN ISOLATION, how much total biodiversity is required to sustain a stable ecosystem that can support humans and is resistant to systemic failure?
Are you wondering why on Earth Obama would think it's a good idea to bomb Syria, when Libya was such a disaster? I'll give you a hint: both countries are non-members of the WTO, with state-owned banking systems. So is Iran.
The people who financed Obama's elections -- and who are the only folks for whom he's been a good president -- are the ones who have the most to gain by regime change in Syria.
"Drones killing civilians is an accident; people thought there was a military target there. Sometimes mistakes happen, and innocent people die, but the intent is to target military forces and largely that is what happens."
