It's not just hydrogen atoms blowing up your ship, it's friction. Eventually, you're going to hit an equilibrium where the force of oncoming hydrogen atoms will match your thrust. Then you're stuck moving at one speed, provided you can stop your ship from overheating.
Don't reduce the number, reduce the size. Every time I see a road I see 90% of the cars with one driver and three empty seats. Taking out the back seats would really help (Smart car: 3.3 litres / 100 km, compared to 5-6 litres (the hybrids) and 9 litres (normal cars)). Motorcycles are a heavy sacrifice on comfort and safety but they go down to 2 litres. Think of the traffic congestion problems that some healthy downsizing would also fix (no idling, even more fuel economy!).
f) Prevent spammers from becoming even more effective since people would believe that a message which the sender put money into sending has to be legitimate.
OpenOffice.org is getting quite good for most purposes lately, and that seems to be where the attention is focused. As for advanced image/sound/video/CAD editing applications, with a few partial exceptions here and there (eg. Blender), Wine seems to be the way to go. Wine is also moving forward pretty fast with Google pushing it as the means through which they release Linux versions of all their desktop software.
You cab't just put out the worst argument on the other side and claim that everyone who is on that side thinks that way. Most FOSS people have actual arguments why their software is better in itself, even in no-copyright land.
You see them as 13 year old losers in their mothers' basements. I see them as the future of decentralization and democracy and most likely similar to the means through which the revolution people keep advocating around here will happen. It won't be guns or bombs, it'll be people with computers online behind cryptographically secure anonymity.
They're young and immature now, just wait and see what they become.
There are no leaders...willing to own up to their actions Fixed that for you.
No, there actually are no leaders. There are people who get up on (virtual) podiums, present ideas and sometimes get the crowd to implement them but they aren't leaders. Them being anonymous, the group can't rally around specific people. No formal command structure exists at all.
reason why they were attacking Scientology... was to stir shit and create "lawlz" Fixed that for you also.
Then why don't they attack Mom & Pop's Flower Shop's website, which doesn't have the legal ability to fight back that Scientology has? True bullies that are going out for lulz attack only the weak. The answer is because they, being human beings, don't want to hurt innocent people. Scientology deserves it, because they are an enemy of internet freedom.
why shouldn't they refocus their efforts?
because their efforts are the efforts of a large group of pathetic sub-human idiots, who glory in their perceived freedom from consequences and scatter like little slimy things when their rock is overturned.
If you're part of a guerrilla force and authorities are moving in to your location, you flee. That's how George Washington liberated America, and that's how all groups that aren't strong enough to attack the enemy head on fight. It's not cowardice, it's common sense.
1) There are no leaders. That's kind of the whole point of Anonymous.
2) The only reason why they were attacking Scientology is because they, with their copyrights and takedowns, are the enemy of a free and open internet. If the Australian government is worse, why shouldn't they refocus their efforts?
I have multiple recollections of being on a month-long vacation with little to no internet, finishing the 6-10 books I brought in and wondering what to do. You only realize how good something is once you have it - Romans thought their lives were just fine with no TV, maybe one book in the house and no internet.
300' = hottest day on Earth 320' = average Las Vegas summer day 350' = average temperature on Earth 375' = average Toronto winter 400' = very cold 450' = normal day in Antarctica 500' = very cold day in Antarctica 540' = coldest day on Earth 1000' = what we'll be seeing when we colonize Jupiter
Ah yes, this old meme. Unfortunately, books fail hard at carrying capacity. One book I picked out of my shelf has 57 chars per line * 36 lines per page * 774 pages = 1588248 bytes, and one of those takes up a full pocket. I can have a few thousand of those in an ebook reader, which also takes up one pocket.
If one person leaks it out and doesn't get caught / is in the right jurisdiction / only has $25.72 total assets, that database becomes public for everyone, legally. It might work for a few large corporate applications, but not for phone books.
You can't see Microsoft's profits here and Microsoft's profits in a parallel universe without Linux/Firefox/Google/OO.O side by side. For all we know, in that other universe they could be making twice as much as they are here.

The internet is more than just studying. You can take a Wikipedia link hopping trip and see what you learn, you can read the news, you can read and post on Slashdot, and you can go on Facebook/Myspace/Twitter/email. Notice how the first three are educational but without relating to your school subjects and the last two are in fact forms of socializing.
Gimp is not nearly as important in the world of free software as Photoshop is in the proprietary one. 25 years of vi, that's a milestone.

Then make 2-seaters that do reach expressway speeds. Make them hybrid too. It's not a solution that can be implemented overnight.
On Linux, it seems like you need to remove from two places.
Although I might be wrong, anyone more knowledgeable want to confirm/deny/add?

In other news, Nortel has announced another quarter of record profits. CEO John Roth foresees a bright future for the company in the years to come.

And this punishment just happens to only be effective against people who don't pirate.

The space-separated lexical units! They cause rapid oxidation in my cranium like low-PH compounds!
Fixed.

How the heck does a file get loaded onto your computer without your express consent? Are you on Windows running IE?

I prefer my Kelvin inverse scale.
300' = hottest day on Earth
320' = average Las Vegas summer day
350' = average temperature on Earth
375' = average Toronto winter
400' = very cold
450' = normal day in Antarctica
500' = very cold day in Antarctica
540' = coldest day on Earth
1000' = what we'll be seeing when we colonize Jupiter
It actually makes quite a bit of sense.

It's all right if you have the ability to print out 2 million dollars.
And can you print some out for me too?

Or get the best of both worlds and use a fax to email service

Or make them propel the bus using pedals with their own feet. That also keeps them busy and saves energy too.
