OK this idea came to me last night, and it made perfect sense, there used to be a version of NT for the PPC platform, why mess around with i386 emulation when you have a perfectly good PPC HAL lying around. maybe MS is investigating updating the ppc hal and instead of virtual pc use it for windows on mac via a ppc hal and virtual OS, if done right, you wont have the i386 penalty and ms can merge the mac and the i386 office together. hell if the G5 runs good enough they could have a version of server that runs on IBMS p970 blades next year.
I think that china will change our mind in the next 10 years. once china starts ramping up their space program we will start to wonder, hey what the hell are they doing up there. and then it will be a mater of national pride for the us. we went to space because the russians were one upping us along the way, it was called the space race for a reason. maybe china will light the fire under our ass that russia did, in that case, more power too them. i dont know if i read it anywhere, or just pulled it out of my ass but i think china fully intends to send a manned mission to mars. if that is the case than we will certainly be going to space. i think the real question is, why are we doing a fucked up job of it. looking thought the posts i have found allot of them that say itunes dosent work or it works really slowly. i think that this is analogous to the posts of os x transfering files slowly between computers as compared to win 2 k. given that ive installed 20 versions of itunes and all of them worked flawlessly i think that MS or someone is using lies to dissuade people from using itunes. if you are reading this. the people who are saying that itunes dosent work for them are either incompetent morons who cannot operate a computer, or they are plants by people who dont like itunes or dont want it to succede
This is not flaimbait, really . i was playing around with dreamweaver, and php on a mac and i couldnt get a working connection to a postgresql database. this really frustrated me. why. i dont know why anyone in their right mind would use mysql thats just stupid. postgresql is far superior and its opensource. this frustrated me and i guess this is much more of a dreamweaver rant. i like php, its simple elegant. and i guess you can mod it. java is just plain ugly. but why would an opensource app suport mysql, its not opensource. anyways rant over.

the platform is the problem though what would work best is and apple bassed tablet with built in keyboard, like most tablet pc's why would this be good. with tablets you could also distribute the books electronically. this would end up saving the school money. so theres my.02$ a tablet version of the mac os with ebook support.

AMD does a much better job but not by much. whats killing them is that they keep following Intel. i believe that the opteron uses IA64 for its 64 bit code. if AMD scrapped x86 and IA-64 remade its own arch or used power 4 code. than they wouldn't have to pay the Intel tax and they may even have a better processor. i know now you say what about OS, well get Linus involved build a great compiler and when it starts beating the crap out of Intel then windows will have to follow. the fact is that x86 Intel and AMD are junk processors. their great for gaming but if you want to actually do something with them thats a different story. thats why it takes 100 x86 CPU's to keep up with one mainframe.
