They do take the security and privacy of their customers’ info seriously. They keep it locked away and sell it only to people they trust. It would be a bad idea to sell it to someone who might not pay for the info.

I was once in London where my plane to Amsterdam departed an hour after schedule. The pilot cheerfully announced that he would make up for the delay by flying a faster route. We took off and lo and behold, we landed at Schiphol at the scheduled time.
Now I keep wondering what they do in the air during that extra hour that they normally use to get from London to Amsterdam

Luckily the stream of recommendations in that âgenreâ(TM) died out quickly because I never clicked on any of them. Nowadays I enjoy Youtube again as my source of funny nonsense videos and videos of mundane things that interest me like cars and fountain pens

This. And this is also the reason why I cringe a bit every time I read about 'concensus between scientists,' which 'proves' that for instance climate change is real. A good scientist must always be aware that the established the established models that we use to describe our universe are flawed to a certain extent. So scientists always need to inform the public that considering the data we have now, the insecurities in the data and the models we have, we can say with a certain degree of accuracy that this or that is happening. Most of them do this but unfortunately the media then 'translate' their words to make them more attractive for the public and their subtlety is lost.

  15. It's interesting how the frequency of news articles about environmental disasters seems to be increasing. Is this just because people are more interested in these stories nowadays or is the planet plunging itself in the deep pit of irreversible warming, becoming more unihabitable for people every day?

Of course he doesn’t have all the blame. Much of the blame is on the GOP for allowing this totally incompetent twit in their vicinity, despite stern warnings of influencial people from BOTH parties. Now they are stuck with him and do as he says and does because they fear for their jobs and the piles of money they will lose if Trump fails to be re-elected.

Trumo trying to fix the climate? I laughed out loud reading that. And if you would have taken the time to actually look at what your link points to you would see that Trump is still the same second hand car salesman we all know and hate.

All your questions have been answered and the result is that we have to reduce the amount of CO2 we emit enormously if we want to keep a nice planet to live on. Everybody who reads a good newspaper every now and then knows that. So why are you still asking those questions?

  20. Bangladesh always needed the type of flood defenses we have in the Netherlands, and more, and it could never afford them. 25. I highly recommend a Kobo reader in conjunction with Calibre e-book manager. It's not difficult to buy books off, say, Amazon and pull them into Calibre. A plugin strips off the Digital Restrictions Management and I can easily convert it to e-pub and load it on my reader. I have access to the myriad of free books. Once it's in Calibre, no one can take it away from me. And I know if I decide to ditch my Kobo for some other hardware, that Calibre will likely support it. It's my future-proof e-book library. I can also move my library to my phone - while I don't like to do a /lot/ of reading on my phone, it is nice to have books there in case I go somewhere without my reader.

I also do this, but with my Amazon Kindle. You can switch its wifi off or never enter a password to make sure Amazon doesn’t remove stuff from it.
