  2. Re:My Review on Review: Wrath of the Lich King · · Score: 3, Interesting

At first I like how it changed the world with the phasing technology. Then I encountered a very glaring problem.

Person A has a quest later in a quest chain to kill Dude X.

Nobody wants to help Person A except a few guildies who haven't even started the chain. Persons B and C want to help A kill X but because of the phasing technology X isn't visible to them and Person A vanishes when entering the area where X is and all they see are mobs from the start of the quest chain.

Getting help to do some group quests has just got a lot more difficult in World of Warcraft for quest chains that involve their phasing technology. Some of these quests require 5 people to complete and all 5 need to be on this step sometimes. You can't just get a few other guys to help you who will do it later.

  3. My thoughts... on Review: Wrath of the Lich King · · Score: 4, Interesting

The game world outside of dungeons is awesome. There's all kinds of quests and activities to get lost in messing around with. I had a goal when this came out and that was to do every quest I could find for the expansion outside of dungeons in the new zones.

After reaching that goal I realize that the dungeons themselves are too simplistic for my taste. Honestly I loved the long quest lines involved with going in and out of old dungeons like BRD, UBRS, etc. Now they feel more like a 5 minute ride at the amusement park. Just not fun anymore.

So yeah, the game world itself in the new continent is really well put together. The dungeons feel not really as involving as the older ones were, almost unfinished because when I'm done with a run I'm like, "That's it???"

Maybe there aren't many (or any) viruses, worms and whatnot targeting the platform today, but they will come, and when they arrive, it will be a good idea to have some protection installed beforehand.

People have been saying the same damn thing for 8 years. "Just wait, one day OS X will get a virus. You'll see."

Ok, well, after hearing this for almost a decade I'm kinda starting to get skeptical.

That is because they are on the Duke Nuke'm release schedule for Macs.

  6. Easter Eggs... on Would You Add Easter Eggs To Software Produced At Work? · · Score: 1

I don't like to make the operation of the code any more convoluted for the next guy. So it's my belief that Easter Eggs should stay out unless specifically in the requirements.

Besides, why have code comments if you can't put Easter Eggs there? Annoying piece of code that someone else wrote could do really well with an ASCII Homer Simpson and your pearls of wisdom from fixing the thing or something.

So yeah.. I'd keep them in the comments only for other developers to see. Even a simple comment such as, "What are you looking down here for?" half way in to the code is cute.

    * Pay things down, pick one bill and put more then the minimum payment on it till it's paid of. Trust me as they start disappearing one by one you'll really feel good about yourself.

    * If you absolutely need a computer for college, get a netbook. Those things are cheap around $200-300 depending on what you get. You don't need anything else for college and you can hook those up to printers and scanners if need be.

    * Pay attention in class and get help if some subjects give you trouble. If you have to retake courses that will increase your debt.

My question would be, why didn't 95% of whites vote for Obama?

Anti-black racism in the white American community is ugly.

In my corner of the white American community I saw the following happen.

If Obama was a woman my mother would have voted for him. Instead she voted for Sarah Palin. My father and I voted for Obama. My mother told me she didn't like Obama or McCain at all and thought Mrs. Palin wouldn't take crap from men in office.

Now you can debate it was all about race, but right or wrong, based on my mothers actions and feelings. I'm willing to bet she wasn't alone in voting for McCain for the reasons she did. If Obama would have picked Hillary over Biden then there might have been a MUCH larger victory for Obama. I'm not saying that's a fact, I'm just saying that's what I feel based off what I've seen.
