I'm running it on a 1000 40G right now and there are still some minor tweeks but for the most part it works way better then the current vanilla Ubuntu. That said, I'm going to try the 8.10 release when they send it out the doors.

  9. Upgrading... on Firefox To Get a Nag Screen For Upgrades · · Score: 1

Getting updates for my 1000 40G EEE PC from Asus has been a royal pain since day 1 of my purchase. It's a beautiful machine and runs great with Linux, but not Xandros since Asus's update servers have not played nice to even let me get the necessary packages to go to full desktop mode. I honestly doubt I can get a full update to the latest FF3 either so I'm stuck at FF2. :(

I still don't want to switch to Windows though. Vista is a hog and XP on the EEE's causes a lot of disk IO compared to Linux. At least XP chewed away at the disk when I put it on for a short period of time on my 701 EEE.

Would be interesting to document from because while there is a lot of garbage in the old AW world, there is also a lot of history of the users that did things in that world.

Users were allowed to build virtual areas where they could hang pictures, sounds, and text. Pretty much a gussied up 3D web site of sorts in a world. There were various levels of creativity in designed plots of land.

The URLs to the sounds and pictures most likely don't function much more, but all the signs with text people left could be interesting to document along with the URL histories.

You can't say he's totally wrong with proof either. For all we know they could be here and just watching pretending to be one of us till we come to our senses and progress as a society or just letting us ripen and fatten up enough.

NWN's story sucked but some of the mutliplayer was great; it's a shame NWN2 didn't follow through.

I miss developing online stuff with the NWN1 toolset. It crashes constantly under Vista and the NWN2 toolset has graphical errors that render it's controls unusable on my system.

NWN1 was fun, I created an open vault hacked character detector that I setup like a virus scanner. It used a signature based method for detecting item properties once they allowed people to work with them.

The other big thing I did in that at the very end was suggested to me by someone I met early on. I created a module that had a stage and pre-programmed plays. You could cue up Three Blind Mice, Little Ms. Muffet, etc.

I would have loved to spend more time working on those two projects.
