Most will use electricity, even cell phones and the internet and all this other newfangled technology, for work but it ends there at the farmers market (or wherever else they conduct business) and doesn't follow them into their home lives for the vast majority of them.
Firstly, it's very important. You will be kicking yourself in the ass for the next 10 years when you have to keep going back to figure out all this "crap you will never need" that you just so happen to need every month.
Your problem seems to stem from a lack of understanding the basics according to your summary. Go back and really study them until you understand tehm; it will make life so much easier and it won't take long. Everyone these days are "good with computers" and if that is your selling point you can get hired for helpdesk support at minimum wage right now. If you want to be involved in any of the advanced CompSci areas though those fundamentals (advanced math is one of many) are absolutely necessary. The first time you can't figure out a simple algorithm because you don't understand the math behind it just stand up, shake the interviewers hand and go home, you already don't have the job.
Every car I have ever owned since the 90's have had both measurements listed there on the speedometer, allowing you attention to spend more time on that hot piece of poultry crossing the road.
..on/.?!? Unbelievable!! (only if you haven't ever been on/.) What we have here, ladies and gentlemen, is a typical non-story sensationalized by a partial summery to leave out the key information to in order to get the comments section worked up over nothing. Shouldn't editors at least check the story to ensure the summary isn't intentionally devoid of the facts?
You seem to be confusing Professional (basically just a fancy word stating I get paid for what I do) and Expertise (expert skill or knowledge in a particular field). Neither require the other to be true.
I mean it's still WoW but after a decade, the first half of it playing regularly and slowly playing less and less, a new coat of paint isn't enough to make it fun and exciting anymore. Time for something new but there isn't anything. Sure there are a lot of different names on boxes out there but they are all basically the same. The MMO world needs something truly innovative, there just isn't anything. For me, starting way back at UO, MMO's have run their course. Nothing in any of them keeps me interested more than a month.
I remember when these comments use to be insightful....7 years ago. Now it's just the same old comment rehashed over and over again by AC. The only difference among posts are the sites referenced as being the source of all/. news.
Simple..because LucasArts just got canned for exactly what is mentioned...they haven't produced much that's appealing in a decade. Sure, those games were fun and mind-blowingly fun when they came out but I assure you, nobody I know "still talks about them" except in a moment of nostalgia and that's no different than any other game from the first time we played Pong right up to recent years.
In the end, it's the same thing as the classic spy scenario. Instead of going all Bond with miniature cameras and fast hands stealing classified or highly sensitive documents you have someone sitting in an air conditioned office slamming caffeine 3/4's of the day doing the same thing. Doesn't matter how it's done, it's all the same.
Yet the first link claims that while the chassis is from a diesel fueled car, the secret service states that the limo actually runs on unleaded and it was only speculation that led people to believe it ran on diesel.
I'm guessing the links aren't even checked to verify the summary? Very first paragraph states it wasn't a fuel problem with only one sentence in the middle of the story that says someone is sticking to the "it's the fuels fault!!! reasoning.
I would prefer that sunset was between 9 and 10pm est time year round. During the winter months, getting dark around 530pm is just depressing. I want to work all day and still have 5+ hours of daylight to play in.
Unless I need to figure something out that is so unique I need to dig through the (God awful) crap that passes as official api documentation to figure it out, not only will sites such as Stack Overflow offer examples in abundance by some very knowledgeable people, the theory and reasoning's are of spelled out better than any official documentation you will run across most times.
Now, I'm sure at least bunch of people will point out that Stack Overflow leads to a lot of copy-paste code. That very well may true for students and entry level quality programmers. There comes a point where copy-pasting an ArrayList example is no longer gonna cut it in your profession but the advice given definitely applies.
Actually I can argue that you do not need to really think about how many inches are in a yard. Since in the US we learn that from birth (at least when I was a kid) so it's just intuitive for those that use it. It's not like the US is all anti-metric considering my kids learn it in school as well. Back when I was in school that wasn't the case. Now, knowing the conversions from metric to US standards and vice versa isn't as intuitive since I didn't learn that but my kids have and have no problem with it. The only real reason to change would be to conform with the vast majority of the world but for most Americans it makes no difference.
Unfortunately in this type of situation it's either Government policy or Big Business setting their own standards. Neither which is good but at the same time there is no alternative. I suppose businesses could say, you know what we don't need to scream our commercial at you so we will readjust it to comfortable human listening...oh right, no they wouldn't. They need to make sure your attention is grabbed and make sure you, and everyone in the household, hear about how you can put money in their bank.
In this day and age, it's a shame to say but going so far as to contact a congressman about anything you disagree with is probably just an excuse to add you to some sort of list to have your emails read and all that conspiracy crap. Not that contacting them about anything individually matters anyway. The only way it would even be noticed beyond a the standard generic form reply is if all of a sudden 10 million people emailed them.
Funny how the people that tend to do the reporting also tend to do and say things just as bad, if not worse, than they report. I'm all for lining them up and smacking some sense into them. Wait is that menacing?
I've been on the receiving end of that when I worked in retail. I was reported to my boss by an elderly lady, and she actually called the cops, because of a comment she says she overheard me telling another employee as she is cussing me out and threatening me in all kinds of hilariously awkward ways and the minute the cop arrives she is the grandma next door all the kids in the neighborhood love as their own grandma. Of course nothing came of it as I don't even know what in the hell she was talking about.
When it comes to non-violent protests and speaking your mind, I'm all for it. Talk is just talk and if someone wants to burn a flag or a book, so freaking what? Have at it. The slope gets slippery as you near the point between free speech and illegal or violent actions but we shouldn't be moving it further into free speech territory thus removing rights and freedoms, making mere words or personal actions illegal when they cause no real harm to another except offending your holier than thou morality.
WoW has every popular pop culture reference (as well as some so dated you probably wouldn't even understand what it is if you just started playing) out there tucked into every crook and cranny. How ANYONE can take the game serious is beyond me.
I've been hearing that argument alot lately followed up with we should just go with a straight popular vote and everything will be better and the right candidates would be in office, ect ect..except it wouldn't have changed a thing about who was elected this go around and in most other election years in the U.S.
Once upon a time I was prescribed into addiction thanks to my ignorance and a doctor who shouldn't have been since he was nothing but an ATM for unlimited prescriptions at a phone call. I discovered something during that period though, certian stimulates when pressed to a certain threshold make you superman when it comes to focus and finding enjoyment in even the most mundane. I definitely understand the appeal of it having gone through it. HOWEVER, the downsides far outweigh it especially if you press it to the point of suffering the consequences of withdraw and all that fun stuff.
Having said that, I'm firmly against the use of stimulants and drugs such as Adderral for increased concentration where-as I use to be all for it. It changes your personality, how you act and many other things. The deeper you go the more pronounced the not-so-good side affects. Even the most discplined will abuse it when it's easy to do so just because you don't even realize it after a certain point.
...Not a fucking one of them

Definitely not speculation as other devices had been found.
*Disregard one fun or the other in the above comment ;-)

I am hoping your list was in jest, as you can see each and every one of those daily including the last two.

The internets are yours for the day.
