I don't understand how it deals with dependencies, especially for GUI applications for that "native L&F." I could understand statically compiled binaries, but it obviously must use some shared objects on the OS because in the introduction video, Windows still required Cygwin.
I don't doubt that this will be useful, but there's just too much hype surrounding it right now, and I can't tell the difference between the truth and the embellishments.
I think what people need to realize is that biology is a highly variable science. What's true for one person isn't necessarily true for another.
A lot of people aren't bothered by aspartame, but that shouldn't be construed to mean that everyone can handle it. For example, my body has problems with aspartame, and I know the exact reasons for those problems after consulting with my physician, but I make sure that other people understand that that's only true for me and a small minority of the rest of the human population, but is by no means true for everyone--not even close.
People need to consult with their own physician, and monitor their own health to get a good understanding of their bodies and how it works.
Evolution has nothing to do with religion. I don't care if you're Hindu, Voodoo, Greek (pagan), Seikh, Muslim, Wiccan, or Catholic--evolution has nothing to do with religion.
If you decide to ignore all the evidence out there that supports evolution (including its laboratory use, and as a basis for creating new technology), that's your choice, but realize you lose credibility with everyone else that decides not to ignore the evidence.
Peacefully co-exist? Sure, but you and everyone else that says evolution isn't science should just be honest and say that you don't really believe in science, instead of hiding behind some pseudo-science like ID.
I haven't decided whether or not I would vote for Paul for the actual presidential elections, but I'd rather see him as the GOP nominee than anyone else on the Republican ticket.
He's at least consistent. He's not my perfect candidate (he's practically homophobic, anti-choice, and doesn't really understand immigration issues), but perfection is the enemy of good, as many have pointed out. I think many slashdot would vote at least for good. Despite his imperfections, I can't say he's even evil.
That's not what they're saying. They defined free will as being somewhere between chaos and order. They assumed that the flies would have only deterministic (and there for orderly and robotic) behaviors. They were wrong.
That said, however, they don't define free will beyond that.
So prosecute for selling counterfeit merchandising that need to uphold a certain specification. There's no reason to create a new law for this since current law already deals with this problem.
Anybody that puts out counterfeit medical devices that kills people I'm sure can easily be prosecuted for manslaughter, or even murder.
This is the letter I wrote to my Senator. I recommend everyone else do the same.
Please do not support the Intellectual Property Protection Act 2007.
This is act loses complete perspective with respect to the crimes of which it proposes to prosecute. Much like the Patriot Act, it would give unnecessary expansion of powers to law enforcement agencies, including wiretapping Americans through a specially created FBI unit.
It even proposes to imprison pirates for life if someone "recklessly causes or attempts to cause death"! I'm not even sure how someone could possibly cause death from pirating movies, music, or software. If a person is guilty of assault, battery, murder, or some other violent crime, then they should be prosecuted for those crimes as they are typically.
Another thing it does is criminalize attempts at piracy (and the proposed punishments are 1 to 10 years of jailtime). I'm highly uncomfortable with this proposition. Unlike attempted robbery, or even attempted murder, it's highly unlikely that anyone could be hurt by attempted piracy. It seems even more absurd considering that most pirates aren't violent, and yet this bill proposes to group these individuals with other violent people, since most people in jail are in jail for violent crimes. We may well be turning someone with little to no penchant for violence into someone with a high penchant for violence.
I'm not saying that we shouldn't be trying to up IP law enforcement, but the Intellectual Property Protection Act 2007 goes way too far. There are better ways of increasing IP enforcement without going into the absurd.
What are you talking about? There's this alien species on Earth right now that do not fart. The proper Latin name for them is Prettius girlius. Sometimes they're colloquially known as hot girl or sexy girl or wayoutofmyleague girl.
Abandoning products of a nation that continues to uphold unethical laws like apartheid, or boycotting companies doing unethical things are tools to be used to make those things right. Abandoning ReiserFS simply because he murdered someone (assuming he did it) isn't going to speed up the judicial process. Continuing to use it isn't going to slow or stop it either.
Abandoning it because no one else can maintain ReiserFS is a legitimate reason, but I'm certain that someone will be able to figure it out and maintain it. However, I would think that a name change would be in the works.
Do you even have (what I consider) the basic feature of spit panes in Explorer? Spit panes? Really? I always wanted to spit at my monitor. Thanks to you, now I know I can!
...Genesis 8:1-5, you'll notice that God "caused a wind to pass over the earth, and the [Flood] water subsided." Those God Beans really clear out the gut, huh?
I really hope this pans out, but my skepticism bells are ringing like crazy.
I guess we'll see what's there when it comes out.

At least 50% of the population is of below average intelligence, and typically, 90% of everything is crap.
Mare Juice I misread that last option as something else that had an 'l' instead of an 'r' and thought, "Hells yeah!"
"Sex in the back seat" could take on a whole new meaning.

Also, Catholicism supports theistic evolution. Even Pope Benedict's more recent comments on the situation weren't actually against evolution in spite of what many have said, but rather the use of evolution to push atheism.
Peacefully co-exist? Sure, but you and everyone else that says evolution isn't science should just be honest and say that you don't really believe in science, instead of hiding behind some pseudo-science like ID.
Bowling for Columbine is pretty much the only good documentary Moore has done. It wasn't scaremongering. If anything, it was anti-scaremongering.
Also, anybody who says it was an anti-gun movie has obviously not seen it.

Let's look at some other things about him:
I'm sure there's many more that I've forgotten.

Twit, my Senator is Feingold--the only one that voted against the Patriot Act.

Have you ever stuck your nose to one of their asses for 24 hours just to find out?

For once, I wouldn't blame anyone for not RTFAing.
Which would give some sufficient reason to lock him up for the rest of his life. Psychwards ain't no picnic.

You're right.
In this video, it's mentioned that both of ASIMO's feet leave the ground for 0.08 seconds. If that's not dynamic balance, I'm not sure what is.
I remember some places here in the US trying similar such boot camps for troubled teens, and to my knowledge they didn't work.
