    I have solved this by buying 3 TVs of the same type. I can always find at least one remote control and as a bonus there are also fun and games to be had when my partner is watching something in another room.

    Whilst paying Tesla may reduced the size of the financial penalty, they are in effect subsidising a competitor. It might be more economic in the long run to pay the EU fine.

    In general if you have 2 sensors that disagree significantly, you disable all functions that rely on those sensors and issue an alarm.

    You might be able to decide which sensor is correct from data from other systems, but that is another story

    If you have 2500 people paying £15 you are only going to get just short of £40k in revenue, which means you can't spend a huge amount on the entertainment, especially if you've included staffing costs.

    To provide a decent experience and to provide the revenue to pay for it, you either need to dramatically increase the entry fee, or get a lot more people coming or some combination of both.

    Also Norwich is one of those cities in the middle of nowhere (in UK terms anyway), Unless you live close to it, you're unlikely to travel there.

    I suspect that the Post Office has in the past had patents assigned to it. and if it can be 'someone' which can own a patent, it is also 'someone' who can invalidate a patent. Also companies are 'people' for some legal processes, so I see little reason why government bodies can't also be 'people' for legal actions.

    Which must make me incredibly rude.

    I remain permanently subscribed to a lot of Job boards so I ignore those and related direct emails. I also ignore the Amazon/ CostCo and other emails from online stores.

    Paradoxically I do read a lot of the spam, because I never cease to be amazed over the number of hot women I've never heard of wanting my body.

    Actually funding is part of the problem.

    It;s always claimed that fusion is 30 years away because of the technical problems but it would be get a damn sight closer if there was a crash program along the lines of development of the atomic bomb or getting to the moon.

    I think you're missing the point here. It was unlikely or impossible to get to Mars by 2024 but by lying to the president and claiming it would be possible with "unlimited" funding, NASA could have massively advanced its progress in the following 8 years.

    Who knows, they might even have made it.

    The best person to deal with a dishonest man is another dishonest man. Lightfoot should have lied his ass off no matter what he believed. :)

    But he would have got 8 years of unlimited funding for the "Mars" project, and if they'd been really clever they would also have claimed they needed fusion energy for a successful project. NASA would have taken a giant leap forward under those conditions.

  17. Regardless of whether you blame Trump or the DNC for the shutdown, what astounds me is that it is permitted to happen at all.

    The solution to this would be to enact some legislation that automatically funds major departments at (say) 95% of the previously agreed budget until a new budget is agreed.

    Even if that is not acceptable, some employees are expected to work without a paycheck - again legislation should be enacted that 'essential' employees (e.g. emergency services) are automatically funded.

    Yes, but at the time the Amiga came out, you weren't competing against the Atari 400. It's rival was the Atari ST, which had a 'normal' keyboard.

    You can also jettison it in case of a lithium fire. :-)

  22. There is a lot of charter/ shuttle flight business, and in addition many businessmen also have pilots licences allowing them the pleasure of flying their own aircraft.
    Small groups of people often buy shares in an aircraft like this, reducing the cost even further.
