You can play DVDs now on MythTV - in fact, I watched Napoleon Dynamite last night on it.
That's just the way it is. People don't piss away 10,000 on a high def plasma screen, 20,000 on a high end THX certified surround sound system (and that's cheap!) and then feed it with a 640i RCA video out jack from a 5 year old piece of shit video card
Let's see - don't most of the high-def plasma screens have inputs for DVI? If you didn't get one that does, well shame on you. And my Myth box sends digital out to my THX-certified sound system (that I didn't pay $20k on, thank you very much).
With an external module, can MythTV control an external digital tuner box - the way a TiVo can? Has TiVo ever kicked any of that shit back into the OSS world?
There are IR blasters for changing cable boxes, and Myth handles them. In addition, a lot of cable boxes have serial inputs, and Myth can utilize those as well.
... is that they are attemptiong to go after the transport mechanism and "traffic guide" of digital files.
Imagine, if you will, cops make a bust of somebody selling bootleg DVDs on a Manhattan street. These DVDs were made in China, and shipped through UPS to NYC. Would the RIAA sue UPS? The UPS men that drove the trucks used to transport the bootlegs? The companies that made the maps followed by the UPS truck drivers to get the bootlegs to their destination? How are these any different from trackers and the BitTorrent system?
Is it *that* hard to get off your ass and go to your official voter registration area to vote?
If you're too lazy to go a little out of your way to register to vote, should you really even be trusted with making an educated decision on who you are going to vote for?
People, in general are stupid. Young people, in particular. They want to listen to what is played on the radio - music that, despite federal regulations to the contrary, is played for payola.
I agree with the anon.

Concerts *are* where they make their money. The labels like concerts, because they help boost record sales that the corporations make 95% of.
Thanks for saying that I download music.

Since you know me so well, perhaps you can tell everybody what the last copyrighted material I downloaded was? Can't do it, can you? So quick with the tongue.
Believe it or not, I believe that DRM is bad for another reason - how am I going to play those lovely WMA files on my MP3 player? Why do I not have the right to listen to the one license of the music that I purchased however I want?
I know through "insiders" at a few companies that I applied to that they often posted jobs that they didn't have openings for. Apparently, they thought it made the companies look better to stockholders.
Why would the dealer care? I'd be afraid to play at any house where the dleaer had an option of hitting or not.
Now, if somebody else could get hold of that data...
I'd be happy if unchecking politics in the "articles I'd like to see" actually worked.
Ahhhhh.... Slashcode!
Perhaps you can explain what existed before the big bang. Was there nothing? Did matter spontaneously create itself?
He had it removed. It was very disparaging.
We need people to speak their minds without being obnoxious "I'm rubber and you're glue" pricks about it, which is what Stewart did.
Cool so can I use my ATI HDTV-Wonder card with MythTV?
No, but you can use a pcHDTV PC3000. Perhaps if ATI would open their drivers, you could use their card, too.
And play back the high-def versions of my favorite movies on the extra DVD in the boxed set (they're in WMV9 format).
Shortly.
And legally play DVDS?

yes, but trackers can plead that they don't know what they are tracking.

They may have the look and feel of high end audio equipment, but a component that uses fans is not acceptable.
A lot of high end receivers use fans, as well.

I'd just like to actually not see the politcal stories, considering I have them checked to *not* view.
turn off the music on your blog, man.
I have to show a government-issued ID to buy beer. This is a travesty! The government is spying on my beer-buying habits! It's not fair! Wahwahwah.
More radio stations means more payola. Why not make one easy payment to get a whole bunch of stations to play your crap at one time?

...they doubled the value of the questions when they kicked the 5-day limit.
I'm more concerned about the functionality and ease of use of it than the form.
...like Escher designed it. ;)
did something finish in first *and* third?
MySQL? Color me interested.
