Doesn't the BSD License cover this. Basically AFAIK you can have your open source stuff out however any changes made can be kept closed source and sold as you see fit
As said elsewhere this is a good thing. It should help people think what is going on and ask questions. Better than whispering but not sure about the key presses of laptops. Now if there was a silent method of data entry that would be cool
Taking in the distances etc involved you have to wondered how may of these stars still exist as we are just seeing the echos. Then again how many have been created?
Half of it is about reputation and having a good following. The other thing that helps is to supply packages for each distro. i.e rpm for redhat, deb for debian. For others like FreeBSD which have the ports tree see if you can get your files commited
I've always liked wordperfect as well as Corel Support for Linux. First company to bring a commerical wordprocessor to Linux IIRC. Was good but now times are moving on..
I was impressed with the article until I got to the comment "I mean, what do I care about what Windows losers get scammed out of?". Now I like Linux much as the next geek but thats just going to aliante people.
M$ might be a monopoly but at least they have bought some form of consistency
This seems very cool and everything but I wonder how "automatic" these are and do they have any collision detection. I can't help but picture the tractor going along, hitting a kangeroo and then all hell break loose. Never underestimate the unexpected
I remeber the day Bind 8.2.2-P5 had an exploit come live. 24 hours and 56 servers later I finally managed to get to bed. Only to have to upgrade it all again a few days later.
Just wondered where IRIX is on that list.. As I can't see it

Try Debian. A small install is around 96Mb and if you install a customer kernel should 200 Mb (Excluding source)

We are going to have a long inquiery followed by a long drawn out process to get the money out of them if found guilty?

Its good to see a county actually opposing stupid patents. Now if australia would only apply the same sort of logic to its monopoly on telcos.

You've got to admire them for supplying fixes for a Dead (if not almost) OS
From the article
