We aren't that strict. It just what we have seen is somone saying their address is in the US and accessing the internet in Indonesia. We are sensible enough to see that if you are close to your home address then thats fine. We would normally assume that you were accessing the internet from work or similar.

We also do send emails as part of the signup process which helps us make a judgement

  3. Paypal does work on Paypal Charged Under PATRIOT Act · · Score: 2, Interesting

I use it for our online billing and have had no problems. The main thing I head people complain about is that amount of fraud however the person recieving money has to take some resonsiblity to check that the other end is legit. We've learnt to some degree to check who's serious, who's not.

For example we always check the IP of the person who is ordering and compare it to their postal address. Now this cuts out about 75% of the fraud. Now on top of this people do use open proxies and these are harder to find. The basic rule is that if someone doesn't seem to check out we just refund the money with an explanation.

You then goto another site that pulls up that cookie via some method and they can geo target you. I can see why marketers might like it so they could target ads at your local area

I would think that robot would be much less willing to procreate as they would be able to at least have bits rebuilt. So does this mean they would just be one generation of machines or prehaps they would just build replacemnts. Something to think about...

  11. Personal Expierences on Review of the Sharp Zaurus SL-5500 · · Score: 1

I wouldn't like to be without my Zaurus today. I decided to ditch the Sharp ROM and install openzaurus. It make a cool little PDA and added to a WiFi card open some intresting possibilities. Apart from the normal war walking/driving (if so look at kismet) I've used it to map out the range of my WiFI access point.

The reasoning behind this is that I want to setup a WLAN across the village I live in so that we then might be able to get some broandband. Now instead of having to lug a laptop round and hold it I can just walk out side with the Zaurus and get it to ping. Now I've got a rough idea of how far my access point will go and how to setup a Mesh

Oh and also it has Konquerer which is nice. My only problem is with the konsole app as I won't render pine nicely. Apart from that go buy one
