This is one of the best posts I've read anywhere in a long time, and I've had this argument with one of my friends many times. I have a feeling which political way you lean, but my friend who really wants more and more laws and regulations to the point where he doesn't have to think or take responsibility is VERY liberal. I really believe in taking personal responsibility and living my own life... live and let live. I guess one of his claims is that a huge government will be very transparent, but he could not elaborate on how that would be true or make sense. Usually those types of people get loud, angry, and irrational, when you ask them to explain or prove stuff (in my experience). Anyways, thanks for the great post, maybe I'll show it to him and he'll get angry :)

I'm not convinced you really understand what a free market is... the purpose of it isn't to be fair or equal, it is to offer opportunity. It is semi-free right now I suppose, but why don't you try starting a business that actually produces something and see how many hours you spend on paperwork and the like when everyone would be better off if you were, you know, actually producing something. And yes, I HAVE actually started a business that produces something, so I DO know what I'm talking about. No offense, but you come off as an angry and ignorant person who wants everyone's life to suck equally. Keep complaining about unfairness like a child, the rest of us will work hard and keep working towards our goals.

How can a fire at a pizza place melt steel enough to cause steel to sag but fire from jet fuel can't? http://www.flickr.com/photos/progman/2576958712/ Put tens more floors on top of that steel and see how long THAT structure lasts. This whole theory is complete bullshit, shame on anyone who believes it. The US can stop when they stop, which has been made clear by them that it will only happen when they are all dead. You don't understand that on a fundamental level they will stop at nothing to kill Americans, innocent or not. It doesn't matter how many people on a forum say they think America should stop killing people, even if America DOES stop killing, at the end of the day these people hate our very existence. Sure, he may have been in a plush and cozy mansion, but knowing that you are being hunted by relentless and supremely equipped hunters must have taken its toll mentally. I'm not sure if it'll help recruit or help deter Al Quada though... on one hand they have another martyr, on the other, it proves that no matter how long it takes, the US will get its man. I must admit, I did not think the US would ever get him after about 6 years ago. It goes to show that the determination of the US is incredible. Lets see how much credit Obama takes!

Yes, bad things can and do happen in WAR. The tired old statement WAR IS HELL still rings true to this day. While what happened is an atrocity and should NOT HAVE happened, it still did, and stuff like this can be expected to happen in war. It does not matter who starts the war, who ends it, or how it ends, stuff like this happens in war on both sides. Guess what, both sides of the war commit atrocities and murders in every war, have you ever heard of a "CIVIL" war (not to be confused with a civil war), where people just arm wrestle/fist fight until they are tired and then give up? No, PEOPLE FUCKING DIE/GET BLOWN TO BITS/MELTED/DISMEMBERED. So, anytime anyone from your country kills anything or anyone, can we hold you and all your countrymen responsible for it, especially murder? I probably wasted my time typing this out as you seem like the type of zealot that would reject anyone else's thoughts but can't understand why no one will ever take you seriously, but what the hell.

It sucked because one of the bullies was actually a nice kid and always told the rest of the group to stop and was always trying to stick up for us. Anyways, It got to the point where I told my parents. They got extremely upset and tried to deal with it through the school to no avail. Finally, my dad goes "next time they do anything, beat the shit out of them, if you get suspended I'll take you out to lunch". So one day in art class, a bully took a pastel and drew on his face and blamed me. I of course got in trouble. That was the turning point. He pushed me next class and I snapped, I threw him onto a table and began pummeling his face in a brutal fashion. I never got bullied again. I did get suspended though, but who cares, sometimes the only way to deal with those type of people is to make them fear you. It continues on in high school, when I make the Varsity hockey team my freshman year. No one ever picked on the freshman when I was one, so when I was a senior, I did not let the other seniors pick on the freshman either, although they tried. I think some people are just wired to bully.
