  1. Since when does the FSF stoop to MAFIAA tactics? on FSF Asks Apple To Comply With the GPL For Clone of GNU Go · · Score: 0, Troll

The FSF should be better than to do this.

This is not "Conservative"! Using "Conservative" to describe this is like using "Hacker" to describe script kiddies, or "Canadian Goose" to instead of "Canada Goose". It's popular, but it's still wrong!

Conservative means a limited government with limited power to interfere in the lives of individual citizens; That is, the government has no jurisdiction over (and therefore cannot interfere in) gay marriage, abortion, individual educational materials, etc. These "Conservatives" want a large oppressive government to force their social and religious agendas on the citizenry; That is not conservative! It's the opposite! Stop calling it that!

I absolutely agree, Bruno Ganz's portrayal of Hitler was some of the best acting I have ever seen. It sucks that he can't get awards for it just because of the subject matter. (Supposedly they're scared that praising Ganz for his work will be equated to praising Hitler, which is a load of bullshit.) It's definitely top-grade work and he deserves high recognition. I very rarely buy DVDs but I went out of my way to get this one. It's well worth it.

  8. I have this, I think on Do You Have a Secret Immunity To 3D Movies? · · Score: 1

One of my eyes is misaimed with respect to the other, but my brain corrected for it subconsciously. I had never known about it. The condition was discovered by the optometrist when I was taking an aviation physical. They sold me glasses with a prism in the lens that corrects for it, it took a few days for my brain to get used to it. As an added bonus, a low-level recurring headache that was bothering me went away around the same time. I think it was related.

Anyway, I went to see one of those 3D movies with a friend and I was curious if the prism would affect it, so I did some experimenting. While wearing my glasses (with the 3D ones over them) the 3D effect works as it should. Without them however, it doesn't. The image appears to be flickering left and right and the position doesn't "fix". It looks like the old Sega 3D glasses games without the glasses.

Even the Nazis got this right! With only a few glaring exceptions (most of which involved the SS) the Wehrmacht conducted themselves in a civil manner throughout the conflict and treated civilians and our POWs as well as could be expected. The Luftwaffe and Kriegsmarine were similarly well behaved.

If even the Nazis are capable of conducting war in a mostly civil manner, we should be capable of the same.
