In my Hyundai, it's only enabled when certain conditions are met, like temperature above a certain level, battery charged and only after you've driven the car for a few minutes. In addition you can manually disable it.
The main benefit I got from byuing a car featuring what Hyundai calls ISG was a lower tax on the car, as here in Denmark that is dependent on the unrealistic manufacturer reported fuel efficiency. In real life I find the effect of the start-stop system is negligible.
I own two Unicomp Customizer keyboards, I had been looking for a model M for some time and finally ordered two Unicomps. One for home and one for work. I absolutely lothe the cheap dell keyboards they provide us with and I figured even with shipping to Denmark, this is something that I spend so much time with, I want the best I can get. They are highly recommended, both as keyboards and self defence weapons:)
Actually the reason I use Linux is that it doesn't piss me off. The does article touch on this, when it mentions unkillable processes and files that won't go away.
It seems everytime I have to use Windows, it frustrates me to no end. Some of this is caused by just knowing Linux better than other OS as it also happens to some degree with HP-UX and Solaris, which I have to use for work. However Windows surely takes the price, I feel so limited whenever I have to click through a bunch of windows/popup menus just to find out in the end that there is no option for making it do exactly what I want.
I'm all for something being done about the scammers, eBay sometimes looks like all it cares about is getting their own share of the auction price. However what I don't understand is that people still fall for these scams, even the tiniest amount of logic applied before sending money to the scammers would eliminate >90% of the cases. Havn't everyone by now heard about, "If it's too good to be true, it proberly is"?
I'm not quite sure how the US sales taxes work, but it's proberly similar to this. Almost every item has 25% extra added to the price that the government collects. For imported goods that also includes the shipping to Denmark.
We still have income tax. So in the end the government collects around 50% in tax on your income and gets 25% on top of everything you buy.
Then there are special cases like cars and motorcycles where you not only pay 25% VAT but also around 180% registration tax to actually take it on the road.
It's a lot, but you got to balance it against being paid to study, government paid health care and so on.
We have 25% VAT so you can start by adding that, then there is tax in importing it (as it's a legal business that sells them, you have to factor that in) and then the sellers markup.
I've never used MMS messages either; I frankly don't see the use, since most cellphones have such shitty cameras that you can't tell what it is you're looking at anyway, and most have such shitty screens that you can't make out any detail on the pictures people send you. I don't know what kind of cameras and screens you have, but 3.2 Mpixel og 5Mpixel cam phones with xenon flashes and autofocus take quite nice pictures.

> My phone downloads SMS messages even when it's off and when I don't want them and since I dont' have an unlimited SMS plan it costs me $.99 per message to receive the damn things???
What the.. you pay to _recieve_ sms messages?? What kind of backwards scheme is this?
It's all very nice that edge can load pages as fast as 3G, but if you don't have EDGE support on your network (like Denmarks largest network provider), then it doesn't really matter. Providers have also started offering 7,2Mbit HSDPA here and I doubt EDGE comes anywhere close to that.
As that is the price for an imported and unlocked US version, that isn't necessarily the same price it will have when apple releases it in Denmark. However I don't doubt that it'll be horrible expensive anyway.
I have the same problem here in Denmark, if the shows are ever aired they are far far behind and as we have no HD channels here, the quality is also lots worse than what is available online.
So the choice is waiting a year and get low quality video and stereo only or download the day after the show aired in 720p and surround, I know what I do.
Would the result of a successfull boycut, not just be blamed om piracy? I doubt there is any way the RIAA would acknowledge that loss of sales where anything but the actions of kids with cd burners.
Oh no.. religious fundies will soon after claim that it has been in their bible all along, you just have to read it in this new specific way and that it just proves that their God movies in mysterious ways or whatnot.
But how extremely cool it would be to be alive during the time when extra terrestial live was proven to exist, now thats something to tell your children:)
Now thats all very nice and defines what we understand as theft - unfortunately a dictionary doesn't make laws, so it might very well still be defined as theft by a court.
Or instead of a really expencive hardware loadbalancer you could use Linux Virtual Server a linux based software loadbalancer - works really well. I've been using it together with NFS to balance a quite high traffic website.
Oh.. I can't wait for the "LAST CHANCE TO SECURE YOUR.PRO DOMAIN" emails to begin arriving.. The whole.info &.biz thing was imho a joke and great display of how not to act professional, I've my doubts this will be any different.
I'm happy to see I'm not the only one who thinks webdesigner have gone completely nuts - the site is a nightmare to navigate and spending 10 minutes clicking on everything to find something interresting isn't my idea of good interface design.
..or, 3) While America heads for it's doom - other countries will follow it blindly cos what America does we must do too.. (I know my country will) and there will be no where to go. Here in Denmark we already have taxes on blank cdr media the various organizations for "protection" of the artist are pushing for taxes on other medias like compact flash cards and harddrives because those can also be used for piracy. Your rotten companies and organizations are just a step ahead, but ours are surely getting there..

Darn me for not using preview.

If it's too good to be true, it probably isn't

I don't know what "average" bikes you're talking about, sports bikes generally do 0-60 in under 3 seconds.
Basicly yes. however it's staged so it's not exactly 180%.
You pay 105% of the first xx thousands and then 180% of the rest.
My motorcycle which is about 6.000 USD in the US cost about 23.000 USD here with VAT and taxes.

It was a 750cc water cooled 2 stroke triple, that is sweet vintage sex on wheels, not horrible :)
One quite important point with the T2000 cost is that Oracle requires 0.25 license per core as opposed to 0.50 license/core with Intel/AMD systems.
I've got 2 T2000/32GB ram boxes here and if you remember their limitations and run what they are designed for, they are awesome.

Or he bought it in here in denmark - the cheapest I could find was USD 154982 with no extras.
Yes - cars are insanely expencive here.
