Whenever I crack open a machine with a failed drive, I play a little game called "WD or not WD?". I'll look at the box, and guess based on the brand....7 times out of 10 I guess WD, and I'm almost always right.....they seem to be huge in the OEM market, so just by sheer volume you would tend to see more failed ones because that's what mfr's use. But having said that, I would still not trust any modern drive without a good backup solution, or RAID..
...with free overnight delivery, if anyone is interested. I want to go play with one before I make a final decision, but for the impatient ones that can't get to a store, there ya go.
My understanding is that the only difference between military and civilian GPS is the accuracy. From gps.gov (take with a grain of salt, of course) "... military users can perform ionospheric correction, a technique that reduces radio degradation caused by the Earth's atmosphere. With less degradation, PPS provides better accuracy than the basic SPS."
As someone who has inherited a bowl of spaghetti more than once in his day, I can say definitively that it's all driven by upper management/ownership. You're given a limited set of tools and an even smaller budget to make sure everything not only runs, but runs at peak efficiency. Then, add in incompetent end-users that are allowed, nay, ENCOURAGED to build undocumented, unstructured and barely maintainable "applications", and you're in for some real fun.
Sure, in the same field I can understand, I do that too....I just don't want to know that the lazy sales guy down the hall makes double what I do for taking a few phone calls. Even though I already know intuitively, and by the fact his car cost half as much as my house.
In addition to those old classics, there's the modern-day "Hacker Evolution" series from exosyphen, which are also pretty well done. Uplink is the only game in this bundle I don't already have, so I'm on the fence about purchasing.

Yes, you can...or at least they will provide the illusion that it's closed/deleted.
Here's a link to the "Delete Facebook" group containing instructions and further details. I started the deletion process myself yesterday, and as long as I don't log in for 14 days, FB claims it will be permanently deleted. Of course I don't believe for a millisecond that my personal content will actually BE deleted.
OP here, and I know that thimerosal is not the worst mercury source once could encounter, but if there's a choice available to avoid exposure, why not take it? I also know flu shots are of dubious value, and I have always avoided them in the past, however ever since starting work in a building with poor ventilation I'd been hit with the flu every year until I started on the vax a couple years ago.
Just got my flu shot yesterday, and this year they were using thimerosol-free shots exclusively, whereas in past years I had to specifically ask for one. I'm sure there would be other vax that need it, but reducing it's use whenever possible is a step in the right direction.
With a few exceptions, unless it's a common ailment with clearly defined symptoms and/or easily detectable with diagnostic tests, many doctors are simply making a best-guess estimate of what you have. In addition, they are so busy (read over-booked) they rarely have the time to devote to really digging into hard cases. I've known a few people with difficult diagnoses, and they bounced around to several physicians before they found one willing to take the time and go further than prescribing a few pills.
I pre-purchased the game as an "early investor" when they were raising money on Kickstarter.com, and even the final release was a bit buggy. Although they have been patching it, there are some lingering issues. Funny game, and not easy (not Super Meat Boy level, but still..)
The really really funny part is that this OnLive coupon appears to have been included only in copies shipped to GameStop, and as far as I know can't be found in any other retail version.
Steve Marks has been RIAA's legal puppet for a looong time, he must be doing something "right". I remember writing nasty letters to him back in the day, just for sport; he's an arrogant prick and I hope he's proven wrong.
I used the second option weeks ago, it's a very effective solution.
BCI check, anyone?

I find most actions scenes "shot" today to be blurry, choppy, impossible to follow messes.
Nor do I, it would probably just piss me off anyway.
This is one instance where I don't really care that the lawyers are cleaning up, because it's at TM's expense.

Actually, they only wrote ONE Skinner box. The unique UI that defines each "game" is the primary differentiating factor.
In that memo, he certainly does come off as the typical buzzword-spouting CEO that's read one too many self-help books.
Coxwell by name, Cox VERY well by reputation...

Or replace "Innov" with "Fell", and we all win!

Oh, the nostalgia. I also built quite a few kits, including a Dolby ProLogic decoder that's still in use today...
They are the Honey Badgers of GameStops.
