Does that statement actually reflect Apple's position then: they don't care about you if you're not paying? Might explain iTunes (which anyone can get for free.)
Well said. And might be worth adding that the current populations in the area of introduction may also be negatively affected, and other species caused to go extinct in turn. IMO, the more we can just leave wilderness alone, the better.
Sorry, in a rush and haven't RTFA, but given how we can track everything else in orbit, why is this one not possible? (Just wondering if they don't want to admit where they think it'll land..??)
Also, even if the fuel tanks DIDN'T contain any "toxic hydrazine" don't they still "pose a danger"?
I wasn't sure how much I'd use the Tab S2 I got a few years ago...and I actually quite like it. Generally prefer using it over my phone, and definitely use it more than my phone (which is basically just calls and texts now, and music when I'm out).
The tablet doesn't leave the house (I work from home), but I've found it helpful for a number of tasks... Keeping an eye on work responsibilities, updating social media and some light photo editing, and on a personal level reading longer stories, PDFs, magazines, etc.. And almost always prefer it for the few games I play.
I do have to travel to another city for work on occasion, and usually stick to mass transit, and it's handier to pull out than a laptop in those circumstances. (And I worry less about the data it sucks from my phone's mobile wifi.)
I get that they're not great for many people, and if the phone or laptop does the trick, that's great. FWIW I've been happy with mine. =)
As another poster mentioned, I'm in the same boat that the one I got is perfectly fine, and will probably last a few more years at least...I'm guessing the battery will crap out well before the hardware gets 'too slow'. So that cuts into the market.
...or at least let software catch up before it's set as the 'default' in image-taking devices.
Coworkers need to take photos of products for me for example, and everyone with an iPhone has to change settings so HEIC isn't the default, since Photoshop doesn't recognize them (at least my PC's CS6 doesn't) for uploads to, like, Google Drive. Some are not tech literate at all, so this is a fairly big hassle for them, and it makes working with other people a pain..first time it happened I had no idea what was going on, all of a sudden I'm staring at an HEIC file..wtf?
"Use Occam's Razor. Which is simpler. Is Trump a genius pulling the long con."
Given his long and vast reputation as a con man, I think you just disproved yourself. (And you don't have to be a genius to pull a long con. The guy is obsessed with media attention, and how do you get more than being an unstable and chaotic POTUS?)
Seriously, 'time spent' using FB was what they considered a successful metric?
So of course screwing up the timeline, adding in a ton of unwanted stuff is going to 'succeed' by that standard. So would slowing down the scroll speed and increasing text size. Faaaaaawk. Who is moron in charge of thinking up these things?
Suddenly 'engagement' is what's valued? Seriously? It took this long to figure out that's a better sign of a user experience? When they stop and participate in a post? Seriously? SERIOUSLY??
My 'time spent' on IG now has now gone up significantly as well, because every 5th post is an ad or some other nonsense, so I have to spend even more time scrolling past that as well, so 'bravo', missing accomplished. (Well, a 'success' until I stop using IG as well, like I how stopped using FB about 8yrs ago because it increasingly took more time to peruse. Doh.)
Same here, put an old XP laptop to work for this, run VLC and pull video files from a shared drive. (It's one of the HP's that came with a little remote, so can turn on and off easily, and a wireless mouse.)
"But sniffing thousands of samples in which only a handful may be cancerous is challenging work with little positive reinforcement. Moreover, it takes time and energy to train these pups, who, despite extensive preparation, still might miss a diagnosis if they're having a bad day, experts told Live Science."
Next mystery: why do I get wet every time I have a shower?
According to the article Facebook will essentially downvote any post requesting 'shares'. It's not a literal downvote, but those posts will be effectively muted to some degree.
Okay, then maybe a 'nearby only' option for filtering? And yes, just about anything is better than FB, but the fact of the matter is that it's still the main go-to for many, and I still think this response from FB is wrong-headed. (And I'm not really a user, haven't checked my own 'timeline' in months, and haven't checked it regularly for half a decade now after they started changing the order away from chronological and making other 'selections' for me.)
FWIW a local lost puppy was found a couple weeks ago in part due to help searching from shared FB posts. So you're flat-out wrong there. I've seen other instances where news stations put out the word and people share posts for lost seniors and kids. It has been legitimately helpful.
Given the low voter rates in countries like the US, maybe they do need help. Not sure if your attitude is helping.
Maybe people aren't aware of their local emergency services - so shared posts help raise awareness of their existence. If there are Facebook pages for local emergency services, what's the point if it has 3 followers, and no one else is aware because people like you say not to share their info?
BTW, love your solutions-oriented approach to things. The world is truly a better place with your contributions, thanks for being such a winner!
"My kid/pet/grandparent is missing, please share" [algorithm downvotes]
"Please share this link to find your local voting station" [algorithm downvotes]
"Evacuation order in place, please share and get out" [algorithm downvotes]
Etc..
Here's a better idea: an option to reduce content from people you downvote yourself, so you can more easily ignore those who do spam a million things a day, and not miss anything that's important and should be shared.
Yes, people can do opposition research. But correct me if I'm wrong: when you're seeking out a foreign government for it, I think that's when it becomes illegal, including treason and collision.
If it was revealed Obama had gone to the Vietnam government for 'opposition research' on John McCain, think the Republicans would have let that slide? There's so many things wrong with that! (Oh boy, I might have just spawned a whole new conspiracy theory..ugh..)
Here in Canada there's been a popular website called Clearly where you enter your prescription and can order glasses or contacts. No 'doctors note' required.
So long as the contacts and glasses are up to spec (like the actual prescription, sterile, etc) I don't see what the big deal is? If I need a new set of contacts after 6mos, why should I have to go and visit an optometrist? Same if my glasses break? My prescription didn't change for nearly 30 years.
What happened to all the 'anti-regulation' attitude that we expect from the US? Why are you letting Big Optometrist tell you what prescription you can order?
There have also been many trials with low-fat, whole-food vegan diets with tremendous success reversing Type-2 Diabetes long-term. There's quite a lot of carbs in the diet, in fact the majority of calories come from carbs, yet the diabetes is reversed, and this has been repeated many times over the last few decades, just not much to be made from telling people basically to 'eat your veggies'. A surprising number of people would rather pop pills and inject insulin sadly...but it's not necessary if you want. I'd rather eat 'real food'.
Agree with pretty much everything you've written, not sure why my post was modded down..
The point being: sugar itself is definitely not 'the cause' as the article suggests. The athletes I know consume a LOT of sugar, as I post above, energy gels are an essential food, which is basically just liquid sugar. Marathon runners and road racers would all be dying of heart attacks during the event given the tone of the article. It's just not true, and like you said, sugar can 'kick you when you're down', but so can a LOT of other things. Sugar may be "linked to heart disease", but singling it out is pretty insincere.
(Bonus points for encouraging people to eat more fiber, something like 97% of the US population don't eat enough. There's an epidemic that needs attention.)
You've clearly not spent much time with athletes, we eat a LOT of sugary food. Forgetting that, explain why energy gels, which are pretty much liquid sugar, are an essential item? Why aren't the top runners keeling over from a heart attack after each race despite consuming the equivalent of many tablespoons of sugar? (Yes, this is dramatic, but it stands that athletes, despite consuming loads of sugar, rarely suffer from heart disease during their careers.)
Is sugar causing heart attacks, or is this article flat-out wrong? Because we have people in their late 30's having heart attacks with an increasing frequency, and almost none of them are endurance athletes who eat a lot of sugar. So you CAN eat sugar and not increase your rates of heart disease. So it likely isn't a central part of the cause, because many of the biggest consumers of sugar aren't showing any sign of the effects.
If carbs are so bad, why aren't endurance athletes all dying in droves, instead of generally being leaner and healthier? They eat HUGE amounts of carbs.
Or what about the majority of the 'less developed' world, where carbs and starches are the vast majority of calories? Why aren't they all dying of heart disease?
But when those people move to places like America, and end up eating less carbs but more fat and protein, they get sick like Americans?
Certainly not ignorant, untrue and bigoted BS like 'marriage is about children'. Please go and educate yourself before spouting nonsense if you want to have actual conversations with people. Whatever you think you know isn't true for the rest of the world outside your regressive subculture bubble.
Canada also traditionally uses British English as well; I'm almost 30yrs out of elementary school, are they still spelling colour with a 'u' in Canadian schools?
Does that statement actually reflect Apple's position then: they don't care about you if you're not paying? Might explain iTunes (which anyone can get for free.)

I still use Photoshop CS6 (no real need to 'upgrade'), will the Windows upgrade mean I can open HEIC files in it?
Sorry, in a rush and haven't RTFA, but given how we can track everything else in orbit, why is this one not possible? (Just wondering if they don't want to admit where they think it'll land..??)
Also, even if the fuel tanks DIDN'T contain any "toxic hydrazine" don't they still "pose a danger"?
This all sounds very irresponsible.
I wasn't sure how much I'd use the Tab S2 I got a few years ago...and I actually quite like it. Generally prefer using it over my phone, and definitely use it more than my phone (which is basically just calls and texts now, and music when I'm out).

A real head-scratcher there.
They're not bugs, you're just holding it wrong!
This is true, good point! (Why is it modded down??)
We use American terms, but British spelling, thanks for clarifying.
