Be careful using a vacuum cleaner. If it is one with a brush, it will rub on the carpet and generate static, which will then come through the hose (many of them have a metal wire/coil running through them) and arc to your hardware. I shouldn't have to explain why this is bad. You're better off using keyboard cleaner (canned air).
Do realize how many safety systems are in place in a NASCAR vehicle? A typical car doesn't have a roll cage, a 5 point safety harness, roof flaps, a window net, seats bolted directly to the frame, built in fire suppression, etc.
As long as the keys are accessible to the driver, a DUI can be brought against said driver. This reminds me of a story: I was drinking with my buddies in my old home town and the party was dieing down. Being that there was nowhere to sleep and it was cold out, I figured my car was the best bet, but I was aware it was possible to get a DUI without even actually driving (or even being intoxicated, but that's a story for another day). Luckily, I had a remote starter installed a couple winters back, so I had somebody else hit the button for me a couple times to get the car warmed up. I'm not sure if I was bypassing any laws or still could be convicted, but I felt as if I was within the boundaries of the law. Anybody with a law degree care to weigh in?
Well, that would be nice, but in most places it seems that it is illegal to film a police officer doing his job. Or if it isn't, they will tell you different.
I know this discussion has taken place here numerous times, but please...substantiate your claim. What real concrete evidence do you have to support that?
I have at least four concussions (one of them quite severe) to my name but no brain cancer - perhaps there is a connection? I'm just joshing, but that does make me wonder if there is a correlation (and causation) between head injuries and brain cancer...
The number of replies to this story seems to indicate that perhaps a vast majority of slashdotters don't particularly like football players. I was actually hoping for some technical insight and whatnot, but it would seem everybody is still maintaining the same attitude they had in high school.
What's up with one that looks like a sad face?

I believe the newer TiVo sets lack the commercial skipping functionality. I may be wrong about this, I don't own a TiVo.
you came off as an idiot who tries too hard to smart.
Lessons of the internet, part 1:
When insulting the intelligence of another, make sure your grammar doesn't fail at life.
As far as I can tell, Halo: Reach is a major release. My point wasn't that its a great game, my point was that its a major game not available on PC.
So how is Halo: Reach on your PC? Oh wait...
Can I have that in dehydrated form? Its easier to travel with.
This is the first thing that came to my mind when I read the summary.
That raises the question. What kind of music DO people here like?
Heavy fucking metal

Easy. Superman 64.
That wasn't the hardest game ever, just the shittiest.
Java Script? Is that you?
Slashdot should really come up with a way to avoid this...
there would appear to be a Slashdong.org as well...

Somebody give this guy an informative mod or something...that's really cool
A year is all you get? I have shoes that have lasted me over five years.
So it isn't really particularly dangerous as long as you aren't getting zapped by this thing on a regular basis is what you're saying?

Nine days?? I think I would walk home. Even if its 50 miles, that could be covered in nine days.I mean holy shit, wtf is the problem over there?
Oh crap...it would appear that my statement is losing validity. Stop replying people! I shouldn't even be posting this message...

Bah...I forgot to mention in that post that they are also called "matrix codes".
