    Energy is neither created nor destroyed. If we take 10 tons of material from the moon... we have to put back at the same time 10tons.

    The moon has a specific gravity.... our daily lives depend on the moons gravity. We can't just take a chunk out of it.

    Netscape sucks anyway. I don't care for it... never have. If IE will run well on Lindows soon... I can easily switch over to Lindows for most of my computing. Until then... I won't use linux for a desktop system. I just don't like netscape/mozilla. I'm used to IE and I like the way it works and is setup. There's things in NS/Moz/Opera/Konqueror that just don't work like they do in IE. IE gives me a bit more control in some area's where I need it. Others do not.

    Last I heard, Yahoo had the 2nd largest email system in the world (second only to Microsoft/Hotmail) and they used Qmail. Just another notch for Qmail.

    Take a min to really think about how many people out there are actually still using win 95 or 98 with IE 3 or 4 or even Netscape 2 or 3! I get calls from tons of them a day. Maybe YOU can see all that info, but your in a minority right now.

    Sites that force me to register just to look at their stuff, BAD. NYTimes, Washinton Post.... BAD. They are not worth my time. I don't have cookies enabled for all sites... only certian sites that absolutly require them and that I wish to visit (ex. being registered on slashdot). I'm concerned about some basic privacy, I'm not going to give identifying info to a site that I'm not going to visit often. Just browsing around, requiring me to register... next site please. :)

    I'd love to be able to select or deselect the commands of javascript. JS does not need to use that history -1... I HAVE A BACK BUTTON!

    Popups are a huge annoyance... not mainly from JS, but being able to control that would help reduce the number of popups. Having pop-up stopper pro helps even more.

    How about when some newbie makes his website and thinks that if he makes a cute little JS in the html so that people can't right click on things? That's lame. Some people even screw it up to the point that the scroll wheel on my mouse won't work right. If I don't left click on everything, they don't want me there. ... Well I don't want to be there. So I leave.

    My gripe is resizing of my browser. If I want to view the page maximized, I'll view it maximized. If I specify how big I want my browser... I don't want some site making it just a little wider or smaller just because they think it should be that way. If a site tries to resize my browser... first thing I do is close that window and go looking elsewhere.

    Personally, I think weblogs are stupid. I really could care less if "sarah's new dog is sick" or if "it found a new place to pee". Again, IMO, weblogs of peoples worthless personal lives are WORTHLESS CRAP. And another thing... people that read them have problems. Mind your own business and find some better ways of entertaining yourselves. This weblog junk is for teeny boopin wannabe's. Thank you.

    It's a nice idea... but if I call someone and have to listen to that for a second and then hope that they are actually there. Fuck that, if I don't hear the voice of the person I'm calling, they aren't worth my time. I'll be sure to tell em that if they try to call back.

    Adding extra steps and annoyances like this will make some people not want to talk to someone with one of these. I've actually convinced a couple people to disconnect those annoying things or I don't call. They usually disconnect them and get one that's more effective or nothing at all.

    Ok, now come back to earth and realize that most people that buy music look at the artist/band/person/group on the front... not who's the record label. I rarely buy cd's, but when I do... I don't buy based on who the record label is. I want the music that's on the cd, not a corporations glut and politcal crap. I'm looking at the music!

    No, that would be a bad idea. Imagine haveing to dictators.... one says one thing... the other says something else. It's just not a good idea.

    Come on, it only costs (last time I looked) $8 to register a domain for a year. Most regitrars charge $9-15 to cover their work part. If you think that is expensive, your a cheap bastard and don't really need a domain.

    Well maybe you can make one of those Business Time Machines (ala IBM commercials), go back in time to when they were first designing TCP/IP, DNS, ARP, SYN and all the things that EVERY network uses and have them fix the problem back then.

    If you read deeper, it's not a problem really with the Adelphia network. There's hundreds of networks that have similar problems. It's more of a problem with basic IPv4 design and less of "a big company" problem. IPv6 should help fix some problems like this.

    k_stamour: Don't waste your time. IPCop has had a lot of press because it's a total ripoff of Smoothwall. I've used both, I fell for the hype of IPCop being a notch above Smoothwall... it's not. It's worse... they actually copied smoothwall, branded it with their name and turned off some features and then gave it out. Stick with the original, Smoothwall. I'm using it now and have no problems.

    Don't bother with IPCop. It's a pretty blatent rippoff of Smoothwall. You gain nothing by using it and only loose some abilities and support people that ripoff others.
