You apparently have not play DAoC, the other Mythic MMO.
That game's PvP was very much skill based since everyone could spec the same way and gear was basically accessable to anyone (unlike WoW which forced high-level raiding for the best gear) since very few items in that game are bound to the player.
I am really looking forward to Warhammer. DAoC has been the only MMO to-date that has held my attention for more than a few months, let alone the 5+ years I have been playing.
I sort of agree with you, but for different reasons. I like buying CDs so that I can control the quality of the encoding when I rip them.
I have downloaded several albums from emusic.com and even though they *say* they use lame --aps to encode their mp3s it is quite obvious that some of the albums are very low bit-rate.
Not hard. However, the problem is that assholes will continually take advantage of your "huge" safety cushion and cut in front of you. Which causes you to back off more, which then invites the next asshole to whip in front of you. I get to the point where I feel like I have to fight fire with fire.
The thing that really irritates me, though, is the fact that nobody uses turn signals anymore, even when making 90 degree turns. As a matter of fact, if people would just use the signalling devices included in their car I think that quite a few accidents could be averted.
ebook readers are solid state electronics. They can (if engineered properly) take a lot of G's.
I have dropped my PDA onto hard surfaces many times over the years and it is still ticking.
I don't see why an ebook reader couldn't be any different.
As a matter of fact, I have had my HP3150(?) for several years and I love it as an ebook reader. It is a perfect size, has a backlight and since it is a monochrome screen, I find that it is easier to read than the full color LCDs of more modern Pocket PCs. I replaced the battery pack in it last year so now I can get well over 10 hours of continuous use out of it with the backlight on.
Another nice thing about using a Pocket PC as an ebook reader is that you can also read other formats like PDF and HTML, however, I find that it is best to use the free Word-to-Reader plugin from MS to convert documents to the.lit format.
I agree. I have never tried Netflix, but I don't have anything bad to say about Blockbuster's online service. I had the $30/mo plan for about a year and always got the movie that was next in my queue in 2 days or less. I never ran into any kind of limit or miscommunication. I ultimately canceled the service because I felt that I had tapped out what I found interesting.
I would *LOVE* to see round two of "Space Mutiny" that movie has endless potential for riffs.
Speaking of riffs, Mike Nelson is currently doing rifftrax.com which brings in former MST3K talent like Mary, Jannet, Kevin and Bill along with outsiders like Lotax from somethingawful.com to help with the riffs.
Then, of course, there is www.filmcrewonline.com which is just Mike, Kevin and Bill doing the old MST3K thing.
It is a great time to be alive for fans of that wonderful show.
if they are simply port blocking or doing deep packet inspection. If it is the former I would think it would be pretty easy to circumnavigate...if it is the latter....then I suppose SSL would be the solution.
You know people won't "upgrade" until they are forced to.
People simply fear change. If it is different than what they are used to then they will resist it and say that the new way is somehow worse than the old.
Personally, I don't care which flavor of browser people use, however, I would have to say that I trust IE7 more than >=IE6.
Designing a toilet from the ground up WOULD be pretty tough. I mean you really gotta be thinking outside the box to come up with a design for a toilet.....in space.
Do you, by any chance, wake up to public radio or similar? I find that sometimes the first 10 minutes or so of what is said on the radio, before I become fully cognizant, gets absorbed into my subconscious so that I think it is weird when I hear the same bit of news later in the day.
Yep, that is exactly how I have it set up here. I cringe every time I go into a new client site and see them using OPEN wireless access points as an extension of their wired LAN. At the very least encrypt it....
Do we get to cut off his right arm?

I have had a bumper sticker for a long time which states this very thing.

Not to nitpick but isn't it Indigo?
This makes a lot of sense to me now.
I seem to recall that you could just put in all 1's for the cd-key for the '97 products in order to install them.
I think also counting up from 1 and then back down worked as well.
YOU ZERGED MY CLOUDSONG!!!!1
Oh DAoC...you are *still* the best MMO in existence.

oh, you mean like the survey you get when you register a product that you bought?

floppy disk huh? I am going to go out on a limb and say that your favorite band is The Spin Doctors.

Wait a minute. DVD has DRM on it too. So why don't you boycott DVDs as well?
I think what you meant to say is that you will boycott HD until it is as easily cracked as DVDs are now. Am I right?

Well, at least you KNOW that the label got the $14 in the first place.
However, you have not deprived the owner of the combination and he/she is able to change it.
does it speed up your telephone conversations as well then?

Angry cat says, "Rawr! Playing Doom is for uber nerds!"
you still took the time to read and comment on it, now didn't you?
