You apparently have not play DAoC, the other Mythic MMO.

That game's PvP was very much skill based since everyone could spec the same way and gear was basically accessable to anyone (unlike WoW which forced high-level raiding for the best gear) since very few items in that game are bound to the player.

I am really looking forward to Warhammer. DAoC has been the only MMO to-date that has held my attention for more than a few months, let alone the 5+ years I have been playing.

I seem to recall that you could just put in all 1's for the cd-key for the '97 products in order to install them.

Not hard. However, the problem is that assholes will continually take advantage of your "huge" safety cushion and cut in front of you. Which causes you to back off more, which then invites the next asshole to whip in front of you. I get to the point where I feel like I have to fight fire with fire.

The thing that really irritates me, though, is the fact that nobody uses turn signals anymore, even when making 90 degree turns. As a matter of fact, if people would just use the signalling devices included in their car I think that quite a few accidents could be averted.

  11. Re:Bleah... on Which eBook Reader is the Best? · · Score: 2, Insightful

ebook readers are solid state electronics. They can (if engineered properly) take a lot of G's.

I have dropped my PDA onto hard surfaces many times over the years and it is still ticking.

I don't see why an ebook reader couldn't be any different.

As a matter of fact, I have had my HP3150(?) for several years and I love it as an ebook reader. It is a perfect size, has a backlight and since it is a monochrome screen, I find that it is easier to read than the full color LCDs of more modern Pocket PCs. I replaced the battery pack in it last year so now I can get well over 10 hours of continuous use out of it with the backlight on.

Another nice thing about using a Pocket PC as an ebook reader is that you can also read other formats like PDF and HTML, however, I find that it is best to use the free Word-to-Reader plugin from MS to convert documents to the .lit format.

I agree. I have never tried Netflix, but I don't have anything bad to say about Blockbuster's online service.
I had the $30/mo plan for about a year and always got the movie that was next in my queue in 2 days or less. I never ran into any kind of limit or miscommunication.
I ultimately canceled the service because I felt that I had tapped out what I found interesting.

I would *LOVE* to see round two of "Space Mutiny" that movie has endless potential for riffs.

Speaking of riffs, Mike Nelson is currently doing rifftrax.com which brings in former MST3K talent like Mary, Jannet, Kevin and Bill along with outsiders like Lotax from somethingawful.com to help with the riffs.

Then, of course, there is www.filmcrewonline.com which is just Mike, Kevin and Bill doing the old MST3K thing.

It is a great time to be alive for fans of that wonderful show.
