  1. Maturity... on Living the Computer Geek Lifestyle w/ a Significant Other? · · Score: 2

If you are living with another person, you need to learn a little about maturity. It isn't all about you, now, you have to consider someone else when you make each decision. If you get married and have a kid, now you have to consider two other people before making a decision. Its called growing up.

Yeah, we all had a blast when we were in college and had computer parts strung about the house, but you either keep that life, or share it with someone else. If you share it with someone who doesn't like it, either grow up, or dump her and go back to your electronic wonderland.

Sorry to sound harsh, but I had to be told the same thing before I got married.

Seriously, aren't you asking that question a little late? If its what you want to do, may as well do it until you're satisfied. What's the point of stopping in the middle for a change-of-heart?

Microsoft releases a patch. Admins who are on the ball (a relative few) install it. Nobody else notices or cares, and the majority of systems remain vulnerable.

FYI, XP autoinstalls patches. Anytime you are online it checks for patches. They are d/l'ed on idle time, and you simply hit "yes" when the popup says a patch was d/led and wants to be installed.

I'm sure people like RMS send the government letters like this daily.

Writing a letter to the government (regardless of what 'big name politician' you got to sign it with you) isn't a newsworthy article. What comes of it is.

I just wrote a letter to George W saying he should use linux on his personal computer. Do I deserve recognition? No, unless George switches because of my letter.

I'd rather see results than efforts.
