Sounds like neural network programming to me which has been around for quite a long time. Many people use it today, Google has their finger in the pie and i seem to recall the us army getting it to recognize different models of tanks. The trick is you have inputs and outputs then a network of connections and nodes in between. When the computer gets an input it finds any pathway to the best answer, then continually refines the path by using a survival of the fittest type tactic. Eventually when enough good pathways for different inputs are remembered the machine can quite quickly identify solutions. It also means you might not get the right answer but you do get the best answer. Which is essential for a human intelligence.
Oh yeah those little digital cameras are so expensive it would of blown the price out by hundreds of dollars.
If you think that the only reason android is going well is because of cheap phones then how do you explain the big sales of galaxy s, htc desire, and the inevitable success of the Motorola atrix and samsung galaxy s2.
If you want to keep your head in the sand saying apple does everything better fine, but don't tell the rest of us we are wrong when we tell you we like the control (being able to change your background, widgets, settings, proper multitasking) or freedom (being able to make and alter roms, install Linux, hack wifi, run some old computer game without buying it off itunes, ect). Sure a lot of people buy android cause its cheap just like a lot of apple users buy apple cause they are technically incompetent.
Your saying they were working on that piece of crap for 5 years and they still hadn't figured out how to put a camera on it. I am impressed with the ipad2 but i disagree most people would chose an ipad over a competitor. A large growing group of people prefer the freedom and control you can get on a Linux or windows machines compared to the large selection of tightly controlled apps.
I don't quite understand how a large number of people believing something makes it right. I mean, it might indicate that the government has angered them, but it doesn't necessarily mean that the people are 'in the right.'
if the number is larger enough it is. thats democracy
android tablets have been in development for longer than the ipad. Its apple that rushes its product to market without a cameras a good gpu and cpu just so that they can look like they are at the head of the pack and make millions of the "early adopters".
Windows is Microsoft’s number one product which has been used for over a decade. if people were complaining that they wanted to call there product ioss or appley i could understand but APP. Why doesn’t the first shoe store sue everyone that ever put the word shoe in the name of their store?
Plus by the time they get windows 8 on arm optimized for phones, and they are running quad core 2.4 ghz they could have something pretty cool. If you let me dual boot with ubuntu i reckon it could take on android.
Too right if we could get the world to agree to global peace we could put the millions of billions into really cool and useful stuff. Like unimaginable amounts of power generation; space exploration; accelerated concentrated food production; robot butlers; medical breakthroughs; gene mutation and age slowing/stopping. That said war has benefited our scientific advancement ever since the first tribal battles, hell we are still using most of the stuff the Nazis came up with for ww2.
Don't get me wrong the plane is very nice but average geeks have been doing this with rc planes for ages. Do a diy drone search or look for audriopiolt and they can do much cooler tricks than this (take off; land; loop to loop, barrel rolls, you name it) all on its own if you want. It couldn't fit a warhead in it or go as fast or as far but its all the same theory. When this thing can take down a human in dog fight then I might be impressed.
Odd dress restrictions, however, would be another matter.
I have no idea how they figure out what shoes are acceptable. I swear its more complicated than string theory but the thugs at the door that enforce it some how wrap there minds around it (granted they could never explain it) and they aren’t Nobel prize winners.
Why stop there, why don't we take DNA from every patron as well just so we can catch all the date rapists. Hell how about drug test inside the urinal that takes a picture then alerts security if a patron is using amphetamines. Our country is turning in to a police state (no need for stuff like warrants over here), and no one seems to mind being ordered about, all because they are slightly safer at a pub they would never go to any way.
I completly agree and so does matt groening in one of his lattest futurama epesoides he has the face-space / twit cult call themselves "internet geeks". I would prefer dumb bimbo bitches aswell, but i think this is all we can hope for.
Hell yeah lets give all the fat people fines or make them where a computer controlled trapdoor over their mouth (they aren’t only hurting them selves the kids learn the habits as well so you could put them in jail for child abuse). We are almost at the point where you don't have to think for your self anymore (which is great for people that can't think), the only thing you need to keep on top of is what laws are changing this week.
To tell someone that their indicator is still on, you stick your hand out the window then quickly open your hand to high 5 position then close into a fist (it’s like your hand is flashing) repeat this till you get bored or they turn of the indicator.
Ok fair enough if its just going to beep at you if a problem is around the corner, but i still think i would prefer an active radar setup. Sure it can't see around corners but it dosn't need the majority of cars to have it installed, and it sees stuff that isn't vehicles.
I never said they don't make manual cars anymore I just think it would be harder to install this on an OLD car that is also a manual. Like one with carburettors, no assist on the clutch and no abs.
First of all when they made the transition to everybody having seat belts you could install your own. Second if only new cars have this system then they will keep crashing into the cars without the system. Third do you really expect all the cars on the road to be completely replaced with new models in only a few years? ((there are over 750 million cars in the world) just send that Ferrari 420 Modena and the Shelby mustang to the wreckers they don’t have wifi). If not then this system doesn’t help you, because some learner driver in a piece of shit $1000 car will stop suddenly on the highway and none of your new fancy wifi cars will be any the wiser.
You can legally buy cars without airbags, but with the seat belts its much simpler to get everyone to install some straps than it is to get them to install a computer systems, drive by wire, and wifi.
That's the same as airbags, seat belts, ABS and every other safety innovation for automobiles. It only works for cars that have them installed.
Its nothing like abs, seat belts, or airbags (an active radar system would be like that). If only your car had those features then your car would stop faster and if there was an accident you would have air bag and seat belt safety to save you. If only your car had this wifi talking installed then it would do absolutely nothing. Any car that doesn’t have this installed is completely invisible (apart from the driver) to all the others with it installed.
Australia hasn't got enough people or engineers.

Most humans could never approach the capabilities of a common calculator.

that said this ipad is pretty rocking.

Its not that hard to root, and when you do you get full functionality not like with apple jailbreakme where its all slow and glitchy.
Stephen Conroy is best know for his support of NO R18+ video games and his almost stopping of alien vs predator in Australia.

Not to mention for this system to work every car in the country would need to have this installed (quite a problem on older manual cars).
