Exactly. Microsoft has openly admitted that the target demographic for the X-Box is males of age 18 - 34. If you don't have a credit card by this time, dude, you have other problems.
Exactly, the original poster is stereotyping Rollins because of his high level of physical discipline and perhaps his musical genre.
If you ever read any of the above mentioned books, you'll find the guy is a serious deep thinker and has some interesting philosophies.
Yes, I agree that Slashdot editors should use discretion in not linking to Bugzilla from a main story posting. However, I think setting up an all out blockage of Slashdot referals is counterproductive to the goals of the project.
Considering that a large portion of the open source developement community hangs out at least occasionally on Slashdot, I fail to see how stifling discussion on bugs/features promotes interest in the project or encourages developers to contribute their efforts into addressing particular issues.
"Sorry, links to Bugzilla from Slashdot are disabled."
Now why would they bother doing this? I can't see what they have to gain by making it harder to reach bugzilla. Besides, all you have to do is paste the link in another browser window and it works fine.
Those units were built like brick shithouses ( performed about as fast as one too) and they ran forever. I remember we had a pile of about 20 of them, and although they all worked fine, were too slow to be of use for anything.
IBM actually bought them all back from us and the last I heard, they were going to ship them to Africa to be actively used again.
I had a similar problem. I ended up grabbing a few of the problem files from the PHP CVS and was able to get a successful compile for PHP 4.2.2 on Apache 2.0.40. I didn't use this on a production server, of course.
It's too bad you screwed your account up so bad that you post at -1, because you make some valid points.
Remember when Win2K was coming out, a lot of people said they would never upgrade to it because it was a piece of shit? I wonder how many of those guys are still running NT 4 today?
Anything substantially new must prove its merits through time before it is generally accepted.
And when they find that copy of Windows, what do you think the odds are that they went out and bought it? I would say 90% of these Walmart machines will end up with a pirated copy of some Windows variant. Walmart knows this, and hey, they don't really care - it's hurting Microsoft, not them. They still get to sell a shitload of hardware at low, low prices without paying OEM licensing to Microsoft.

Wow! You must be like one of the best crackers I've ever heard of!!! You were able to retrieve the ISP's password list with no Internet access or a modem even!
Ok, well, I'd like to see you drop $300 on a top of the line console and resist the urge to buy at least *ONE* game to play on it. Every time you open your closet and see that sealed black box with the green X logo on the front, you'll hear the siren's call "Play me....Plaaay meee".
I heard that the X-Box DVD's were pretty much impossible to copy with a conventional DVD burner. It seems that Microsoft chose to write the DVD data to the media in reverse, ie from the outside in, making it necessary to have custom logic built into the DVD reader (like the X-Box) to accomodate this unusual format.
PunkBuster has apparently stopped development on their Half-Life anti-cheat solution. This strangely seemed to coincide with PunkBuster's decision to make the product commercial. There is also some speculation that Valve might incorporate some of PB's code into a future release of Counter-Strike, but I'm not holding my breath.
Probably the best CS anti-cheat software going now is Paladin. It is under active development and is regularly updated as exploits are discovered.
Aside from the pre-built Redhat 7.x 2.4 kernels which I don't like using anyway, I've also had a variety of issues with 2.4 series up until the current release 2.4.17. It seems to have resolved almost all the problems I've been having.
I've noticed that the longer a kernel release sticks around, the fewer bugs it seems to have. There has been a quick succession of kernels up until the latest one, so maybe we've got one of the good releases now.

Although it worked well, the Pringles can wasn't the winning design.
Think of Bad, Bad, Leroy Brown...
uh...why don't you try watching them?

Really? Tell me how I can dedicate my CPU cycles to finding a cure for HIV and cancer then. I'm all for it!
Actually I think they just yelled "Excellent!" while they strummed their air guitars.
The Kadett looks like it's made by Chev. Do you know if there is an American equivalent of this car? It's rather cool looking.

Isn't that one of those rideable bird things from Final Fantasy?

That must be why it's the only X-Box game that's 50% off in WalMart.
Can you resist? I sure couldn't.

Yeah, too bad we're not allowed to have any guns to put in our racks though.
Hey, good plan! You rolled your anniversary and Valentines Day into one. Makes it harder to forget your anniversary too I'll wager.
I will promptly boycot all Fox programming
By doing this you will surely crush their empire!!
