Seems like even Gizmodo gets news sooner, but i really hate the comment system over there so I don't read them. That and a bunch of really good google notifications.

  7. Formatting on What the Pirate Bay Verdict Could Mean For Google · · Score: 2, Insightful

What TPB did and Google does not, is format the search results in a way that makes it easy to get exactly what you want. If you use the well known filetype:torrent on Google to search something all you get is the standard high page rank hits first. This with no peer or seed numbers, comments or screen captures,so it is a crap shoot as to actually getting a good file. I guess they will hide behind the term vague search results, or, 'we only provide the links and nothing more'. Now if the comments and seed info were decentralized... well that would be...

  10. WoW Gold on Game Developers On Gold Selling · · Score: 1

When I was still gaming on a regular basis, I came up with the idea that in WoW a simple solution would be the following. Most if not all Gold sellers are using lvl 1 characters, and, most if not all use the words or combination of words, Gold, 1000, $xx.xx and some web address in their shout outs. By combining these variables with the current ability of people in game to tag players as spamming, it would be fairly easy to turn a character into a killable target if it passes a certain spam score. Let's say three spam tags and at least 2 key words. It then becomes a game to kill the Gold sellers.
The other thing would be to make it impossible for any character on a trial account, or under a certain minimum level from entering any city.
When Gold sellers have to pay $15 a month to create characters who have to be played up to level 10 before they can get into a city and keep getting killed the second they shout out, it becomes more of a cost then a benefit.
Oh, and to all you mages out there, and I am one, stop porting lvl 1 characters to cities.

  11. What to say? on Microsoft Warns of Copycat Conficker Worm · · Score: 1

You would think that Microsoft researchers would spend more time patching Windows rather than saying idiotic things like 'It is possible that these miscreants somehow collaborate or at least are aware of each other's "products."'.
Considering Conficker has been all over the news and the maker of Neeris would have to be working in a cave beside Osama not to have seen anything about it, I dare say it is more than freakin' likely they know of each others products.
Now if only Microsoft knew as much about Windows as these guys do, we might actually get updates that that were more valuable.

'Watchmen filetype:torrent' makes Google a torrent search engine...
