Right I know, it's economics, accounting, Wallstreet math. Blah blah. I had those classes too. I am really not every sympathetic to billion dollar businesses potential for failure.

    A) It won't happen because the Gov would just bail them out on our dime (ala the airlines the last few years) B) "The Bells" in particular have stuffed enough tax breaks and kick backs into their pockets over the years, fuck them and their "4 million / hour."

The only reason this means ANYTHING is because of money. Specifically those that have more than others are worried theirs will be worth less is more have more.

The stupid thing is, money isn't shit. It's just another tool like a computer or a telephone. It facilitates our ability to get the job done (the job being commerce). Take it away and you still have a need for people to actually DO something to survive. Since ease of survival is pretty trivial for many, money is the new air, the new blood. We don't need to all be farmers or hunters to survive.

Make no mistake, I have no problem with the concept of money. More the overwhelming desire to amass it by the bucket load (in many cases without doing anything at all for it).

Would they mind defining what "without full service" means? Also, how much more are they going to gouge "bring your own" customers? There's always a catch/hook/rub/premium for have it your way.

I never understood why the obsession with mobile companies locked phones/formats? Right, lockin so you can only buy their ringtones and use their premium services. But I worked at Sprint for a couple years and at that time they lost their asses on phone swaps. Wouldn't it be easier if they simply sold service, supported open standards and reduced operating costs by not stocking a giant cache of crappy phones they cover under replacement. That has to chew into those premium service profits really fast.

Offer a solid damn service and let people fight Motorola, Samsung, Sanyo, etc over device issues. It's like expecting the gas station attendant to fix your tranny after he tops you off.

My opinion is that Star Wars became a joke through the 80's. It was kept alive through whatever merchandising gimmick could be thought up. The prequels certainly didn't help. The countless releases, action figures, etc etc.. There is very little EU content I like in the Star Wars Universe.
