Actually, its pretty good. The content ranges a little too much for my tastes, but the idea is right.
Best part is, no commercials. Only "pee breaks" and "munchie breaks", both of which are for too short to actually give time for what they try to allow for (and I'm always a little concerened when they have one right after another).
careful man, don't insult Celine Dion in front of a Canadian. They're rabid about her. She's a national treasure.
What are you talking about? As a Canadian I'll highly dispute that. In fact, we've been insulting her long before you Americans even had the chance! In fact in 1993 I had put her down as my pet-peeve for my school's graduation survey.
Every Canadian group or singer you insult as been made fun of at least five year before you've even heard about them

Actually, around 1998 I walked into a ComputerCity (up here in Canada) and I was talking to an employee about videogames for the Mac, not only did he tell me that next time I come in to bring a couple zip disks to copy the ones that were already on the computers, but he also told me all about Hotline and it's (then) wonderful uses for getting expensive stuff for free.
Man do I ever miss that place. The only Apple retailer in my area now is filled with a bunch of anal pricks. I went there asking if they had any jumpers (radio shack sucks in my area) and when I told them it was for overclocking my computer they hurried me out of there, like I just asked them for something illegal. I still get dirty looks from them today.
Dude, right now I'm running Mac OS X 10.1.2 on a G3 300. Your claim just isn't true. It used to be dog slow, but after upgrading it to 10.1, I've seen very little slow down compared to OS 9. And I can run MANY more apps at once due to the superior memory management.
In fact, I just saw a special on this on Next TV (a show up here in Canada on CityTV) and the version they had was for the Mac. Being a turntablist and a Mac user, it got me very excited.
So What you're telling us is that if Apple toned down the colors (I'll remind you right now that the iMacs, iBooks and PowerMac towers are all white), made a keyboard and mouse wireless (which is all about the cool factor) and changed their marketing you'd buy a Mac?
None of your "suggestions" seem to actually make the computer any better or any worse. In fact, they have nothing to do with the actual product we are discussing. Are you seriously going to make your purchases based soley on a company's advertising campain and the use a wire for the keyboard and mouse and not on the actual merits of the product itself? I'm sorry, but your post seems all too much like a poor reason not to buy an Apple product.
If you think actually posting a story is going to stop people from submitting it, you're sadly mistaken. Hell, half the time it won't stop them from posting it again.
Actually, the PS2 can do AA. But most developers decide to not do it due to the major processing that it takes. There are a few tricks of the trade for designing for the PS2 which can "fake" AA, but I rarely see it done.
In any case, I've never had any problem with "jaggies", it's when developers over do anti-aliasing that really sucks (read anti-aliasing and low-rez textures, ala N64).
So when the XBox's online program comes out in 6 months, will the users have to do the same thing? I would assume so. Which is one of the reasons I will never get the XBox and why I shake my head at everyone that did. Tsk, tsk, tsk kids.

Hey, I have an old Mac Plus sitting around in my basement. I should convert that to a portable system and play Police Quest on my way to work (no, I won't be driving too)
Seriously, I would be interested in making a portable Dreamcast though. Now that the price has dropped it may be a fun and not-too-expensive project.
"Sounds like marketing crap to me, but I could be wrong. "
Nope, you're right.
Using a statement like "Double the quality" is such BS. Unfortunately the general public will see that, tell their friends and the proproganda will spread. It's already started, did anyone else watch TechTV last night?
I actually saw an interview with Peter Jackson where he was asked about all of the merchandise. Basically he said that a movie like this wouldn't even be made if not for all of that. Don't get mad at the movie, the producers or directors for this crap. It's society and industry (which are closely tied) that are to blame. Now what are you going to do about it grump?
Honestly, why do programmers put effort into such a project?
First of all, most apps that are to be ported already exist in some form for Windows. The market for Win apps is already really flooded, and I don't think that these additional programs (no matter how much better) are really going to make any difference.
Second of all, aren't you guys all using Linux as an alternative for Windows? It's not the applications on the platform that affected you decision, but the platform itself. Windows won't be any better even with these ported apps.
Why don't the programmers working on this project do something a little more constuctive, like make the apps for Linux better and better. Moving them over to Windows seems like a step backwards.
Actually, the ADB did allow for hot-swapping, and it still does (on my G3 300, the last of the ADB computers). The problem was with one line of computers (the SE 30s I think) was if you unplugged or plugged in when the computer was on and the starts were just right (so actually, just by chance) you'd fry your motherboard.
Back then it really wasn't a selling point anyway so it was no biggy just to neglect the fact that it was hot-swappable.
I thought that was only an option for the pro version? I don't know much about the Windows side (thank god) but I am confident that you'll have to pay $29.99 for full screen (plus a buch of editing options.)
(If you're using a Mac, just use an older player, like 2.5. You can still view the newest video and all of the functions are accessable.)

Thats Bif Naked you're talking about dude. She's not an actress but a singer.
But yeah, she sucks at that too (IMO).

Ever use a Virtual Boy? Now THAT was a screen to make you go blind (four actually IIRC).

I would rather here what Yahoo Serious has to say about it. Why? Well, both of them are boobs but Yahoo at least knows it.

"this will be used in slot machines and ATMs"
So a Microsoft product is going to be responsible for a machine that takes a whole bunch of money. Who else is a little nervous about all of this?
"Slot machines and ATMs".... geez, you guys don't even read the quick description anymore let alone the actual article, do ya?
