    Alice in Wonderland (Carroll)

Probably many more that I can't name right now. But so far, Disney has made most its money off titles based on or too similar to others' works.

And they want control over their derivative works for as long as possible to ensure no one can profit off them.

Too bad people are crying for them about this who don't know WHY the CTEA truly is bad.

There are also many derogatory stories about GE on there, the parent company of NBC.

It's still a respectable news site until they start ignoring GE and MS problems.

Don't forget that eBay is also the company which decided that Microsoft could have its ratings changed to neutral or positive when it kept ending all those auctions for legit Windows copies because people were upset they were ending them early.

Hey, if you have money, or make eBay lots of money, they'll bend the rules for you. And that's what is wrong about this.

However, the black officer failed his psyche exam, while the white officer went clean through. So what happened? The state told the PPD to throw out their psyche evaluations because they *obviously* discriminate.

If only we could just go to a hiring process where the decision maker has no idea of gender or race, then these little arguments of discrimination will cease. Hopefully.

Yes, one thing that still boggles me on Slashdot, is how much people will be in an uproar when the MPAA or RIAA or whateverAA is trying to reduce what they feel are their rights, or actually are their rights, but when it comes to OTHERS rights when certain people want to get something from it (free music, free commercial software, etc.), they make excuses while doing so.

If the MPAA/RIAA/ETCAA are all evil for stomping on your rights, aren't people just as evil for stomping on software makers/musicians' rights to get these for free, even if they weren't going to buy them?

    Just asking, not trolling.

Console gamers also miss the mark that many gaming companies to make console games are either restricted by clauses which only allow that game to be ported to that console (not all, but more than half probably these days are for one console only). Game comes out for PCs, these days, the bigger studios have an OSX, Win and Linux game ready to go. Most of the smaller studios still have at least Win and one other OS, if they can.

When people state that a PS2 is $200 or an XBox is $200, that's for THOSE lines of games. Get a PS2, XBox, GameCube and a GBA just to be sure when that kickass game comes out, you have the system it'll play on. Or just get a $400 Windows machine that you can upgrade over time (unlike the consoles which are disposable when the next gen is out).

Fairly easy to see why PC gaming will probably never die at this point.
