I believe that an OS X/Aqua version of OOo is more strategically important than one for Gnome or KDE because it would generate instant press outside the early-adopter, Linux world.
A strategic marketing win could result in additional funding/participation/donations to OOo to carry on with other projects that, although important, lack the visibility that the Mac has or could bring to OOo.
Is it so difficult to understand that OOo is free software, Gnome is free software, KDE is free software and GNU/Linux is free software but OSX is not free software?
Yes, you just published the answer in the previous article (and before). Obviously the worst job in science was that scholar that spent a year at EA. Of course.
I couldn't access to my orkut account for several weeks. It stalls at "Logging in..." while google and gmail work nicely Oh wait! I see the difference, the last two are running on... while Orkut is running on...
Guys, you don't realize that the REAL difference is that there are so many antivirus for Windows, while Linux hardly has a few. Even free antivirus as clamav exists basically to protect Windows.
It's not hard to realize that Windows is much better protected than Linux.
That the difference guys, Linux is left alone in the jungle. Poors Linux zealot... no antivirus, unbelieveable.
Microsoft says they spend 6.8 billion dollars in R&D, but they must count also software development for the "D" in R&D instead of counting as "production costs".
It's impossible MS spends more in R&D (6.8 billion) than IBM (less than 6.billion according to their own numbers).
The member companies of the RIAA own the copyrights.
Not completely true in Europe. We have two "different" rights: moral rights (author's right, derechos de autor, droit d'auteur) and economis rights (exploitation rights).
Moral rights belongs to the author, they are inalienable, they cannot be sold or waived. BTW, they are recognised by the Berne Convention.
Have moral rights any impact on this RIAA issue. Have no idea.
- Someone so smart as him select Gnome or KDE.
- Forbid companies to deliver in their distros other desktops, libraries and applications that aren't develop in that "right desktop".
- Jail to any programmer who develops in the for the other desktops.
- Start an injunction against any user that don't use "the desktop".
- World domination.
I just leave it (laughing) reading when I read "OpenOffice launched quickly".
Did they realize that is not OOo "much faster", but possibly due to the OOO quickstarter included in SuSE.
In "Automatic software installation", they almost didn't mention yast2, which really good and fast (although I'm a Debian [Sid] user, we must recognize yast's quality).
Finally, their almost unique complain is Samba, but there is no any comment dedicated to this issue.
With a 200mW Senao, Linux and your own antenna (just in case you don't want to spend more money) you can cover your entire house, even if you have 400 square meters (a quarter a of beisbol stadium, in American standard:) and five walls in between.
Cheap APs have 100 mW or less, and very bad antennas (less de 1 dBi). Nevertheless, a 100 mW card plus a short 2 dBi omni antenna is enough to cover a medium-to-big flat, assuming that the stations' antennas are still internal.
By the way, the Apple Base Station Antena is crap, it only gives good coverage if you have all the stations' antennas at the same level/height, otherwise better to turn the base station on its side or hang it in the wall.
y'all rmrmeber that? It actually didi a very good job of imitiating windows. It came as the default wm on RH 5.2 back in the day. UI was like LLinux has a start button. wow. And netscape. it's jsut like windows, except different. I rebooted into win95 to play a game later and didn't use linux for another year or so, but it was fy forst view of linux.
And it seems to that you didn't upgrade it since they fixed that annoying xmodmap parsing bug.
An electronic bay area where Tsunamis are known as "Slashdot Effect".

Damn!

Nice to see how standards allow you to access Slashdot via the microwave. Very nice.
same people using orkut and GMail

It's coherent.
That's a nice multithreaded oxymoron, dude.
It's free soft^W^Hdom, freedom, stupid!
telnetd is completely removed from Debian GNU/Linux.
BTW, when are they going to remove it from VMS and derivatives?

I think I'm better protected, I'm a proud user of KDE 2.2 on Debian Stable.

I really hope they didn't take six feet under too seriously.
Yes yes, we already suspected that Sun was financing SCO campaign. And now it's flaming also.
Anonymous karma whore?. Strange.

What a genius this guy. Typical rubish.
Because "the security of getting hired at any time" doesn't always mean your goals, wishes and desire for learning new things are already fulfilled.

So, go through, nothing to see here.
Which clearly demonstarte that the use of relational database technologies don't assure the metadata's consistency.
it was not the FP.

They gave ESR more free time to waste by not accepting his CML2. Linus, you should measure your decisions more carefully.
PPPoE is used a lot in DSL and cable-modem links.
I wouldn't like to know how a DoS, or ping-of-death attack will be. A remote exploit?
Too scary....

Just kidding, it?s noy fized yet.
