    A moment of silence my ass. K5 was a verbose place, at times thoughtful and at times troll bait but seldom silent. It was such a collection of quirky content and contributions. It was a slower death then I expected but somewhat inevitable once Rusty began the troll wars.

    As for this article, I suspect I have been tricked. Haven’t posted here since 2008.

    * Veto every budget that does not include a surplus.
    * Veto every budget stealing from social security.
    * Adopt a standard answer of "No" to all new spending with detailed justification and review.
    * Impound pork spending in budget bills.
    * Declassify the most information in history.
    * Veto nearly every bill opposed by ACLU.
    * Pardon federal consensual crime offenders who have never committed violent crimes.
    * Do not enforce laws prohibiting "consensual crimes" at the federal level.
    * Bring home as many troops as possible.
    * Impound as much military aid as possible.
    * Reverse nearly every executive order I have read to date. Obviously the majority would have to stay.
    * End the stupid 3oz limit for airplanes.
    * Increase number of National parks in city and country on a massive scale.
    * End FDA regulation of absinthe.
    * D.C. voting rights advocacy.
    * End enforcement of laws tying funding to state laws, IE state's rights.
    * End C.I.A. intervention overseas.
    * Humble foreign policy, trade with all (not nukes, high tech, etc).
    * Pursue North American Union with Canada, like E.U.
    * Advocate public funding of elections.
    * Advocate single payer health care.
    * Advocate lower administrative cost tax system, be if fair tax or VAT.
    * Vigorous anti-trust investigations.

    I'm pretty sure Ron Paul would be against it...

    Of course but Ron Paul also is either incapable of supervising even a small group of his supporters or is against Blacks, Gays, and those damn Union Yankees. Neither of these alternatives inspires much confidence.

    DC is highly restrictive. If you did not purchase your gun pre-ban, you must get a permit to purchase which are never granted and there is no one who will sell you a gun. Its absurd.

    How many executives do you know?

    It will be a very rare executive will be able to indentify linux flavors. Very few follow open source file systems and their creator's private lives. This is a geek issue, not a business issue.

    I am not forty but there a large number of people that age and beyond working as consultants for software companies or the big 5 consulting firms. At that point, they tend to be ones who can absorb the salary requirements and tend to be the people who can handle the diverse architectures of short to mid term consulting.

    There are a lot of forty plus workers in pharmas, financial services firms, the insurance industry, and government contracts.

    The last niche I see are trainers at a dedicated training facility without the travel.

    You might want to step out from behind the text book and experience life.

    A submissive appears not to have power within the scene (yet it is the submissive that determines how a scene unfolds. Effectively each action the dominant takes must be consented to by the submissive. As a result, while they can be a humiliation or control role playing, it occurs within the boundaries of consent granted by the submissive. I will grant you those boundaries of consent are more opened ended those who have a vanilla sexual orientation but none the less the power in the relationship is more balanced than it would appear from the outside.

    Secondly don't assume all BDSM relationships are long term love affairs. There are plenty of people who are casual and polyamorous just like all the other types of sexual activity.

    I went through the same argument with my old man regarding Amtrak; who happens to be one of the National Review kind of guys. In the end for me; the market developed quiet cars on the train for those who wanted to sleep or enjoy the silence but the majority chose to be able to talk to each other or make calls.

    The ironic part, at least the last time I looked, was the only manufacturer offering iron clad safety guarantees for cell phone usage was airbus. Wahoo! We've gone full circle; the white jean jacket is trendy in Europe and I can talk on my cell phone on the plane.
