The 1.0 stuff is VERY out of date. Check the CSV for the code for all platforms. The code on the site is C64 specfic. Adam hasn't had a chance to create a 1.1 or 2.0 release.
As to GTK+ stuff I'm perty sure it used was for system 16 and 32 bit systems like Atari Jaguar and Sega Genesis. I know it's been heavily discussed on the maillist.
Imagine a low cost, already documented, platform that could be used for say plastic injection machine controllers. Think about a Minitel like device for a $100.
How good/bad is the image quality?
The sound quality is very good. The image quality is poor. This is due to the fact that international Internet connectivity is not yet fast and stable enough to transmit high bandwidth streams. TVBrick is now tuned to provide a sub-VHS quality image at 9 frames per second.[emphasis mine]...This is expected to change within 2 years.:
Oh yeah, this is a real viable alternative.
Have you ever seen SSTV - Slow Scan TV - on Short Wave? This a boone my friend for a simple broadcast method.
I'll bet that they are waiting for a completely opened source streaming codec to come out.(Think OGG-TV).
Let anyone who wants to set up a low power TV(under 20 watts) do it. They would create a community TV network.
They already let people do it through radio via Low Power FM. Why not the same for TV minus the regulations of LPFM? Of the standard 'don't braodcast copyrighted material' be put into place.
Are there any other handheld other then Palm and Handspring out there? I see $30 one all the time at the local KMart but are they worth it? Why the big difference in price? Wasn't there a handheld being made by a toy company?
The Ethernut code has a full TCP/IP stack and modular GUI?
This is straight ANSI C code baby.

Seems to be taking the slashdotting perty well. Plus each part of the project been under developement for quite a while and is open sourced.

Can I get an on CD distro of OpenBrick like I can get Knoppix?
Cats: All Your Bases Are Belong To Us.
Everyone is carpin that this targeted for a narrow market. It could have some very large scale appeal. Here's 3 I came up with:
1. Home video at Work - Watch Opera on your home cable at work.
2. Video Survaliance - Watch what your wife and pets are doing while your at work.
3. Pr0n/Underground Video - Watch what your wife and pets are doing while your at work.
Enjoy cheap digital TV from the comfort of your couch, not scrunched over your computer.
You could also setup a video broadcasting station for less $2000 and no experince.
Keep LDTV alive! - Low Def TV for the underground!
I thought we just had a report a few weeks ago, right after Bush anounced his new hydrogen car program, that hydrogen was bad for the enviroment?
Yahoo Chat has had video feature for years. CuSeeMe been out longer then that. This is new?
Anyone heard anything from Linus on this?
This would make a great addition to Knoppix.
An entire Linux operating system one CD running without a mod.
Why not create a simple XML language that could be associed with the embedded video on a webpage? Example:
So, does this mean I will no longer be able to buy my Bonsai Kitten's anymore?
Is the site powered by Plan 9? I wonder because it seems to have been suffering from the /. effect.
So is Hydrogen good for enviroment or not?
If they been wrong about hydrogen for over 40 years, how can we trust what they say about CFCs?
Does this mean Geeks in Space is making a comeback?
I know on the DOS platform, which still works on WinXP you can get ASIC Basic and BW-BASIC.
If you have MS-Word installed you can use VBA.
You can also use wxBasic to create programs on Windows and Linux machines.
If they can make some sort of profit at $50 in a depressed economy, why have they been selling thier OS's for $200-500 in good econimies?
Any software is Vaporware from when it's announced until its released.
