You are using a site for harder core gamers (hard enough core to use the internet to find out about games), that own computers, have internet access.
I know a lot of PS2 owners with no computer, and a lot of people that play games on PS2's and only use computers for researching and typing papers.
I bet a general population vote would see strong representation from sports games that is not shown there.
I bet less then 30% of console owners are even familier with the WindWaker.
GTAIII was incredibly iportant for the PS2. It came out as system prices dropped enough that more people were looking at getting them. GTA was a cultural phenomanen and people got PS2s because they didn't want to get left out. Even if they ended up not playing or getting the game.
The fact that you were able to get hired twice in your proffession during the down economy is an asset not a burdon.
The fact that you were moved to CA either means you are desperate or worth a big investment. Make sure it spins good (even if it was desperation).
If the out of work periods are short enough I would take it as a good sign that you are being snapped up, not bad that you were layed off.
Don't lie. If you do anyone that has a personal reason for not liking you could possibly get HR to look into it and you could be fired for lieing on your resume.
Just remember that your against people who were likly under-employed or out of work with no short projects inbetween.
None of this is expierience (except the lieing thing) but it is what maked personal sense to me. So if someoen with actual expierence in your shoes disagrees they may be more correct then me.
You mean the net gain of ignorance being able to wash stolen goods into clean one?
This means that as a junk dealer I can buy stolen goods as long as I pay a reasonable price for them. And the transaction is clean. So if some junkey steals a suitcase and finds a ring and a decent fitting dress they can clean up, put on the dress, and sell teh ring. As the junk dealer all I need to do is pay a reasonable price and it is a clean transaction. If the original owner find sthat ring in my store I can sell it to them at whatever price I want.
I think that stores that could easily be a fence for illegel goods should have more motivation to not buy stolen goods for the better of society.
If I have something like for example an out of production camera. I like it, it is in good shape, but if it is stolen it is had to replace. A low reasonable price for said camera would be half of the cost of actually replacing it with the same model in similar shape. So if it is stolen I lose 500 dollors. And the person who baught it payed 250 dollors.
Clearly society is better off with a citizen ripped off for 250 dollors then one for 500.
My Dad once got my Step Mother a Bonzi tree for soem gift to her holiday (V-day,B-day Mothers day etc.). She hated it because it was like another pet to take care of and it promptly died due to neglect (though it is the thoguh, right?)
OK, thanks, just another quick question (though I guess I am spamming slashdot at this point).
where is the FDO Planet website?
google is giving me games.
and if you want to really appease my laziness you can link me to the relavent part of it.
One last question (though this is probably answered somewhere else) is all the great features in FDO intrinsic to it. Or do the apps need to be recoded and/or recompiled to get the benifits from it?
Themes.org has tons of stuff that may be of use to you.
As far as looks go.
If you want funtionality differences some of the themes for KDE work (the B3 decoration in kde changes the way title bars look (only as wide as the title itself and can be dragged by holding shift. This allows for tabbing windows across the top). Then there is the button setting (I wish I knew what this was called, but I am at work and cannot check) where you can give it a marble theme. Or an SGI theme, or many others. It may be worth looking around for impressive Win and Mac clones, but the ones I have seen are obviously different even as a casual Mac user (I have spent 20 minutes on OSX and the aqua themes are lame) Most obvious difference is the buttons are on the right of the Window frame.
For serious functional differences scrap KDE and Gnome and go with some strait up window managers. I had one called WM2 that only allowed you to open Xterms (that you could launch apps from) and move windows and kill windows (no nice close of them, that was the apps job). Enlightenment is pretty cool. And quite unique. The one where you drage the clip around is popular, but I don't even know what it is. After step is kinda neat to look at, but probably shows it's age. Black Box (and probably Flux Box) can look really cool, but are minimalistic, and deffernt then windows and may work good.
Themes.org has Black/flux Box, KDE, and Gnome themes (if memmory serves) with screenshots. There are probably better theme sights with higher standards too (themes.org has some half done work).
Hope this helps.
PS. just using standard KDE/GNOME with unique panel layout can be a good example.
I used to do an auto hide foot in the corner (for that really big one pixel start menu)with a clock always on top in the center bottum and a task bar somewhere I forget where, I switched to KDE and it wasn't flexible enough to do it for me. I was able to maximize my apps to fullscreen and the always on top stuff was stratigically placed to avoid key spots so it was not in the way. It adds about 5% to your usable screen.
PPS. The taskbar was across the top of the screen from 1/3 of the way (letting me see window titles) to about an inch and a half from the right edge (letting me use the frame buttuns if a window was maximized).
next to the clock I also had a few icon buttons and drawers for stuff I really liked.
When I heard (from you) I may be able to play my games and use FDO I was hyped and ready to check it out and see what I would need to do to migrate.
Then I read one of their faq'a here is the relavent Q and A
------------- Q: Couldn't we just write a wrapper for XFree86 drivers and use them?
A: Essentially, no. There are a large number of calls from XFree86 drivers into XFree86's DDX layer. Furthermore, XFree86 drivers don't support acceleration in the same way, so offscreen pixmaps wouldn't be supportable as far as I know.

Now maybe they are doiong it with something other then a wrapper, or maybe they changed their mind from 3 months ago, but it is also quite possible you are a bullshitter, so someone please clarify.
I have only played tapper with an anolog stick (well a simple joystick anyway, no 8 directional multi hardness thing like the term is used now). It worked great. Granted I was young so the bar was low, but it was awfuly fun.
Whats your availability on your servers if you emerge world regularly?
and how long are you under a high load as it is happening?
I have not used Gentoo but am courious about it.
If it is truley and effecient way to keep my servers up to date and running fast that would be great, but if I regularly need to load the fuck out of my servers and restart services it cannot possibly be that much better even if it is less of my time.
So with a good battery and perfect conversion (really good solor panel) it should tale a 10 x 10 meter cell to power a tractor. If said tractor runs for less time, or only daylight and can use a 7 x 7 meter array, too big to cary.
But it still means that full powered solor devices are impossible to run without larger arrays then they can hold and batteries. That is kind of depressing.
But at the same time I question that math. Is a tractor really that much more power lkeaching then an entire house? A green house is possible now with much less then a 400 square foot solor array.
It also means a car would need the power produced over a 5 x 5 meter array to power itself in real time (no batteries 250 HP). Since the avage car will not space for a 15 x 15 foot array there will be problems for long trips (like 10 hours a day multiple days of driving).
I can get a D battery that way. It is not too difficult. It helps to tell yourself the current makes it sterile and non gross as you make out with the battery. Otherwise it may make you feel sick to think about where it has been.
It could be higher polygon count models are used in the new version.
Urban Terror (the other UT) has higher requirements then Quake3 even though it is the exaxt same engine. They have higher detailed models and texture and possibly modified physics (I don't know enough about the physics though.
And yay, soon he gets to decide about his hunting buddy Cheney. Because It is not nessisary for him to recuse himself.
Buddy politics in our highest court is tonz of fun.
ummmm.

I doubt it will be 30 dollor wine but it may not be terrible.
I know the Coppala wine is not a terrible buy at 12 dollors a bottle.
Though for good cheap wine you can't beat the aussies. They just do it right.

show me math that is otherwise and I will agree.
Wow,
I was thinking it is a good thing they don't have Crystal Pepsi because it is so awfully disgusting.
to each their own I guess.
Thats what she gave me last night too.
Read my other posts.
I am just sloppy.
There was something about a similar tech on /. a while ago. And from what I could gather it was essentially a JAVA applet that you set the stuff up on.
I don't know how cross platform that would be, or how the permissions would need to look. But I imagine that is what this solution is.
My Dad once got my Step Mother a Bonzi tree for soem gift to her holiday (V-day,B-day Mothers day etc.). She hated it because it was like another pet to take care of and it promptly died due to neglect (though it is the thoguh, right?)
FWIW
use the anchor tag for links.
slashdot inserts spaces in long URLs (or any long lines) so that you cannot make ultra wide posts.
I'd just like to add:
if you want screenshots of what I mean I can send them to you.
It was an unedited semi stream of thought post, so you may have trouble picturing what I mean.
I will send the shots though if you want.
OK, thanks, just another quick question (though I guess I am spamming slashdot at this point).

Perhaps you should look at the LGPL (used to be Library GPL, then in an act of radicalism it was changed to teh Lesser GPL).
It seams to be the GPL the way you think it should be.
I don't know if you are a programmer, but if you are it is worth looking into.

oh well. Solor blows for cars I guess.
It truly is much easier to get immersed with a 10-15 degreviewing angle.
Especially in a game about awareness of your surrounding.
cutting out the extra 90 degrees I see in real life by unconciously glancing left and right truly ups the immersion level a ton.
Because a new platform would not let them leverage their current monopoly powers.
Inside of the upper lip to tongue.

I guess I have something wrong then.
Yes I use Linux, it gave me silence.
I tried it as a regular user and as root just in case.
just tried it.
it doesn't.
