I was watching a USA show on TV last week, and they censored the word "fart". Is that kind of thing normal over there? From what you say it dosen't seem like it.
For ever action their is an equal and opposite reaction
I'm sorry, but that dosen't explain the curry from my local Chinese restaurant. The reaction is way bigger than the action. Perhaps they should have powered SMART-1 using that.
Uncompressed data of any format takes up a huge amount of storage. Standard MPEG2 compression could probably reduce that 18 minutes to perhaps 8 or 9 gigabytes.
A better rate would be 100fps, got a nice round feel to it:) Plus a monitor at 60Hz is very difficult to look at because of the flickering. I would imagine humans can't tell the difference beyond that.
Into the bargin something filmed at 100fps could be converted to 25fps or 30fps without to many artifacts. (There is nothing worse than 30fps video converted to 25fps, most of the motion is reduced to a flickering blur.)
What is even worse is that WMA seems to be coming near the bottom of most listening tests. Restrictions or not, it's a bad format. Why couldn't they have used AAC? It can be restricted just as easily!
vtun was never designed to be totally secure. It even says so on the website. Still I admit, two years is a lot of time for someone to come up with something. Shame, cause it's a really nice program.
Anyone out there up for the challange? (I'd try, but I'd have no idea where to even start!)
He dismisses peer to peer file sharing products while overlooking the fact that they're the most successful peer to peer architecture network to exist in the history of the internet, and disproves his argument that NAT spells the end of peer to peer.
It could. P2P services still work because there is a still a significant number of users not behind any kind of NAT box. If everyone was behing a NAT box, none of those P2P apps would work.
I just hope NAT dosen't become the 'default', but it looks like that's what is going to happen. There are single user USB modems these days that use NAT!! *shrugs*

I'd be even more impressed if they could make a portable Gamecube. That would even be useful aswell as cool!

18 minutes of UHDV takes up 3.5 terabytes

So you spoke Perl?
:)
Don't all kids?
% ping 192.168.0.2
ICMP Destination Unreachable: Host taking a rest.
Twenty years ago, I was 3! I barely had a grasp on the English language, let alone C! :)
Ahhh how little things change.
Memory is really not an issue these days either
Taskbar space is just as limited however. Nothing worse than having 101 icons in your systray.
You might loose your computer down the back of the sofa!
Well, it is secure. Secure from people listening to it. Which these days is often a good thing!
What is even worse is that WMA seems to be coming near the bottom of most listening tests. Restrictions or not, it's a bad format. Why couldn't they have used AAC? It can be restricted just as easily!
From the BeOS Max website:

Wait
Sorry BeOS Max guys
I'll get my coat.
I'm going to Mars, who's coming with me?
Now all we need is someone to get this running in a C64 :)
It is not a service in which someone would subscribe to or sign up for.
:)
Well at least that bit is the truth
No sane person anyway...

Spoilsport :p
;)
Just because you didn't get that 486 you wanted all those years ago, dosen't mean we can't enjoy the nice fast computers!
I bet they miss!!
Just the right time for those traveling to the Linux Expo 2003. Sweet!
:)
And here was me thinking this country was boring.

It's those pesky Klingons again!
They find a way to plug this into a C64 along with broadband
Believe me, your better staying with the VIC. It has *much* better TV-out than anything S3 could do.
*shudders at the memories of the Savage 3D*
Must most
... it doesn't show does it? :)
I learned to type on a C64
Remind me again why anyone would waste their time on this?
The challange! And it's fun!
Must most importantly, it keeps the strange people off the streets...
