Holy fucking shit im sick of this. This is based off what. What some fucking blogger speculated on his blog last week (which was posted on slashdot days ago if not yesterday) which itself is based on some tweets by a guy that got fired for his tweets. Wow. Is someone going to link to this article in 2 days and talk about how the new xbox will DEFINITELY have always on DRM. This shit is ridiculous.

I doubt it will have to be connected to play anything offline. Hell some guy at MS just got fired for basically telling people they were garbage if they didnt have broadband internet that would enable their console to be always on. From what is out there it seems like there were 2 sides, one fighting for always on, one opposed. Looks like side that wanted always on lost, and dude took it out on social media, then was promptly fired. Remember these are SPECULATIONS by "Microsoft blogger Paul Thurrot" whoever the hell that is, and most likely will be way off, other than things that have been announced already.

You are right. You need a shitload of bomb and planes. Guns and boots dont work when fighting against guerilla tactics in easy to ambush places. Carpet bombing the shit out of places untill they are rubble on the otherhand, always works. You will have to rebuild said ruble. But it works.

All this showed to me sadly was how quickly people are willing to give up their own freedoms because of fear. This is a sad slippery slope we are on. While this was a horrible event, only three people died, and the whole city got shut down. Three. How long till they lockdown the city because two people die. How long untill they lockdown the city because a gunshot was heard. Untill they come into our homes to look for suspects. And the worst part is, no one will even say "No". We will welcome them with open arms, and claim that we dont mind being being forced to stay indoors, to let police into our houses whenever they want, to be under constant surveillance, because there are "madmen" on the loose and we have to catch them. Its like a mass case of stockholm syndrome.

Paid it back to the God Terror by self imposing martial law. There is no way to stick it to terror like hiding in your house and letting your city become a police state. Next we will let police into our houses whenever they please because we want to be good contributing members of society.

They arent tho. What the Ouya? Yeah right. Just like consoles never killed pc gaming even tho it was supposed to happen countless times, small android consoles wont kill the big boys. The void that they fill isnt what brings in the big money for consoles. The only territory they are going into is the wii market segment, which caters to more casual games. There will always be demand for high horsepower machines and AAA titles, be it in PC or console form.

Oh i did. Apparently you didnt actually read what i said because i never mentioned entertainment. Many games are more than just mindless entertainment and provide rich stories that make you not only reflect on them later, but while you are playing the game. I also hold the view that art should have some purpose. And many videogames that i play have more meaning, and are more a reflection of society than most movies that come out. When someone sits there for 10 minutes deciding to do or not do something because the moral implications it will have on the in game world, i consider that art. When i almost cry because the young child i have kept safe for god knows how long will now be left alone in the world, i consider that art. When someone remains ignorant to new forms of media and instantly dismisses them without knowing what they are talking about, especially when that someone is a film critic that cherishes the artistic value in film and print media, i consider them an idiot.
