"What I fail to see is how finding 2 things that give the same hash is a big deal."
wow, didn't expect to see that here. Well, in very simple terms, assume that you have a an OS where the password is saved in a file, say passwd, as a hash. Someone come along and finds another word that makes the same hash. Now when that person logs in as you, he can use that other 'password' and not your password and still login.
"It is also recommended that you not start iTunes with your iPod connected to your PC because Apple may automatically install new software on your iPod that could prevent it from being able to play songs you may have already purchased from the RealPlayer Music Store.
i mean mozilla is made with free labor. netscape already has good name recognition, might as well use the free labor, change a few strings and release it as netscape. I see no reason why not to do this. It costs AOL almost nothing to do it, but if people still go to the netscape homepage at startup, it is free revenue. Its totally a win win situation.
absolutely, most asians come from far worse circumstances than most americans and europeans. Just compare the black, latino and other non-asian immigrant populations in western countires with asians. Ever look around in your univeristy and compare figures on race? being asian and working my ass through college in the US, i am always amazed at how there are so many kids who have much better opportunities than i had but still manage to complain about "the system".
I'm sorry, you can disagree but not label the other party evil. It sounds really childish and dilutes the meaning of a rather harsh term. It also distracts people from the message you are trying to get across.
if i remember correctly there is TM and R the TM are trademarks that you get becasue of recognition and use and R are registered trademarks. i doubt google is in toruble most people associate Gmail with google anyway so it is already TM.
seriously is gaim really a better client? It alwasys seems to me like the unauthorized clients are a generation behind the real ones. Back when file sharing was big, gaim could not do it. Then buddy icons, gaim could not do it. No gaim can do those, but the big thing is voice and video, gaim cant do those.
