    .Net is an open standard Java is not. You can download the source code for the C# compiler and CLR from the MS website and build it on your favorite platform with Make, you can't do that with Java. I think that i reason enough for me to use C#

    Yes,of course, i need to make a little application but the IDE and compiler aren't good enough. What should i do? fix the compiler and the IDE instead of using another one that does do the trick.

    the Dock and the animations, the video running on the dock as well as the the GL reminds me a lot of the Aqua GUI on OSX. It looks really nice. I'm looking forward to using it on my Linux box :)

    i think outlook is hard to beat. I started using it after i got a pocket pc 3-4 yrs ago have been addicted to it since. Organization and info sharing with outlook was relly nice all through college.

    no it is defiently in the 32mb of ROM. When you changed your OS you probably overwrote windows and put linux (im assuming thats what it is) on it.

    more censorship in the US is the curious omission these days of the fact that during the rape of nanking, the US had battle ships off the coast and troops in the embassy. Even though the gov. was aware of what was going on, it could not intervene because of the anti-war groups. One of the ships was even bombed by japanese aircraft and this was explained away as an accident ..

    Here are a few linux myths that need to be busted. The longer they are perpetuated the more it hurts linux.

    1. Linux is unhackable: See recent OSS site hackings
    2. Linux cant get viruses: It's only a matter of time.
    3. Linux is always the best solution: Probably the worst of them all. While great as a server, on the desktop, linux is seriously lacking when compared to OSX or windows. This includes everything from software like quicken, photoshop, MS office etc. to hardware like digital cameras, scanners and most of all, PDA's (pocket pc). I suppose you can add in the inability to buy music online (with any service) as another problem. Suggesting linux all the time even when another OS is better suited for the task probably hurts linux the most

    seriously, every time code is stolen, someone mentions that it could be good because having it open source is better. How on earth can you make a complicated game, have it open source and still maintin the quality, speed of development or even recover the costs of the game. If it were really that easy, there would be as many open source games as there are open source applications of other types. Plenty have tried this approach and have produced little to show for it

    Well, that depends on if you want the newest hardware. I have an ibook and it only cost me about $300 on ebay. Granted you could get wintel for less, then you need to buy windows and boat loads of software. OS X can run a lot of free software out of the box. linux can too but linux doesn't have the same kind of 3rd party support (hardware and software wise) as OS X

    OS X is cheaper, more stable, more secure, runs all the really importants apps (office, photoshop, quicken etc), has tons or fantastic apple apps, has wonderful hardware support and best of all it can run almost any linux app as long as it is not hardware dependent. Oh and PPC emulates Intel very nicely. :-p

    are you trying to say that OSX does not have tight integration with hardware? have you used OSX? have you treid plugging in a digicam on OSX? a flash drive? a camcorder? CDR? any supported device?
    I like how it says that OSX has not done it yet,but you conclude whit Gnome approaching Apple levels of usability

    this is an simple example of a one time pad and how powerful/simple they are consider the following string 10101010110101011 say you XOR it with a one time pad and get: 00000010101001010 the cracker/cryptologist will only have the last string and noting else. Without the one time pad, there is no way to accurately determine what that string is. It is IMPOSSIBLE to break if you have no way of testing the deciphered output to make sure it is right
