    I think it was the job part that got the funny vote, I know it was what made me laugh. We are all numb to the crap that is the US justice system, if you want a Troll mod you need to talk about something important, like vi vs Emacs.

    A carriage, on the other hand, lacks a mile-long list of features that a car has.

    Well of course this is true NOW, (not many carriages out there with AC and a CD-Player, I admit) what about those early models? They were pretty much just carriages with motors. I think we should judge this idea in a year or five, really.

    Yer damn right it lives. As a previous poster mentioned, the insurance industry is a great place to find lots of old code and my workplace, Prudential, uses APL. In fact someone in my section got sent to an APL conference just a few weeks ago. Poor guy.

    Hey, not ALL games are Tomb Raider. Take the ever-quality Thief II. Women as guards, kicking your ass, with very normal bods. Heck, 2 of the main charecters in the game are female, too, and both of them can run without ripping themselves apart. Sure, Tomb Raider is the famous poster-girl game, but there are others, and when is the last time you actually played TR, anyways???

    Ok, ok, this is the second time I have heard the "Pentium 4 runs at blah blah blah degrees..." Enough! What temp a chip runs at is dependent on cooling, case airflow, etc, etc. If you want to try a REAL number on for size, how about Power Disipation? Athlon 1.2 Ghz: 54 Watts. Pentium 4 1.5 Ghz: 52 Watts. (See Anandtech.com) There, doesn't that feel better? :-)

    First off, I also love freesco: with absolutly zero Linux experiance I was able to get a simple router working thhis summer, that I am writing behind as I speak- its a great little system. As for the above two complaints, I am pretty darn sure if you stick Freesco on your harddrive (which is a trivial thing to do, just one command and *poof* it's there) you can add all the extras you want. It _is_ just Linux, after all.

    Matrox....the G400MAX had so much promise...but the G450?? Dont make me laugh. There's still hope for them, but it seems hard to recover lost ground these days in the graphics industry.

    Well, you must be doing something that requires a lot of power, but no matter, that's what Ebay is for. Make some money of the old machine AND keep it out of the land fill. Or if you are even MORE generous, give it to a local school, they'll love you for it.
