1. From the article it did not sound like he resigned just because of the military use of Linux with reference to the Iraq war. It sounded like he had lost his interest and the "military" use of Linux was just the last straw in a decision that was going to occur anyway. I am unclear on how much military use of Linux there is.
2. You should not blame the military or get mad at them for using Linux. You should be happy. The military are just doing their job. If they can kill more effectively and cheaply using Linux then that saves the USA tax payers money. In the USA, the military are controlled by Civilians, namely the President - the Commander in Chief. So you should blame the politicians and the voters for vote for them.
Personally, I think you misunderstand. The point he is trying to make is that this will have little impact on the bootlegging of movies. Just as the drug laws are just employment laws for the police and have little impact on actual drug consumption.
I used to work in a laboratory writing code for data collection devices. We would test aircraft tires and landing gear. Occasionally we would test the tires for the Space Shuttle. The testing on the dynamometers was loud enough but every once in a while the engineers would deliberately blow one of the tires up by applying too much force to the tire. They would generally warn us beforehand though. When the Space Shuttle tires would explode the entire building would shake.
"production uses up more energy than they provide in their entire lifetime"
This is false. The energy used in production is balanced by the energy produced after a couple of years of solar energy production. Solar cells can have a life time of over 20 years.
Curious how the article uses the periods (I.B.M.) to denote an abbreviation. I think that IBM, not I.B.M. is their true name now. I.e., that International Business Machines is not their name now.
To me the Barbara Strisand and the Miss Vermont issue seem completely different. Ms Strisand (sp) just happined to be there -a coincidence- maybe she should move her palace further inland. The Miss Vermont thing seems intentional.

I spend $1500 on a unlimited user UNIX called Interactive UNIX. It was marketed by Sun at the time. It was a true SVR3.2 running on Intel. This was in 1994.
I wish there was one that would work with any or all Linux kernels. I.e., you would not have to compile for your particular kernel. E.g., version x.y of the so-and-so distributed file system will work with Linux kernel 2.4.23 only is what I see. I'd like to see a distributed file system that would still work after upgrading the kernel on my system.
E.g., create a file/block that you mount as a EXT2 file system and that file/block would really be updated by the distributed file system software.
I always install:

often this is not true. Especially years ago.

At least that is my opinion.
"Hourly pay rate: $4.25"
That's pretty good. I used to get $1.60 per
hour mopping floors in a restaurant. I will
not say what year.

I understand that he (Neil A) planned what he

That is a bit extreme for a product that
probably keeps lego alive.

What is 6 AA batteries (batteries not
included)? Five dollars?
As far as I am concerned, Linksys killed LRP. Their
little boxes were/are cheap and flexible. (Well
semi flexible - not much compared to a Linux box.)

I thought that was so funny the "plunging to its doom down a flight of steps". That just shows me how stupid it is.

I still read and enjoy newspapers
A daily and a small town weekly.
I also read several magazines monthly
and still read paper based books.
Amazing.
I can write comments in my books but have a
hard time doing that with a computer based
format. (This is not a comment of the same
kind)
In my opinion, reading text, reading a book,
reading this web page is the same as reverse
engineering an executable program. Is reading
illegal?
