Brainwashing by our pro-corporate media of course. We have a large segment of our population that still thinks that accommodating corporate interests will somehow trickle down to their own lives. They haven't figured out yet that corporations are using these accommodations to move jobs overseas, screw the US government out of tax revenue while exploiting the infrastructure and legal system of the US, and reduce their wages and benefits. People are so brainwashed by the wealth-fantasy that they associate with the rich more than they do their own lives.
Prime example: Joe the Plumber was treated like some kind of working man prototype for standing up to evil liberal ideas. He was a guy making $40K/year with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ask a Presidential candidate about his policies. Rather than using his OWN economic profile, he used that of his wealth fantasy and complained that in fantasy land he'd take a tax hit of a few hundred dollars as I recall. In real life, he would get a tax cut.
I actually visit Blockbuster *more* in the last year. Netflix just isn't appealing at all to me. A friend once made the sage observation that you could own a used DVD for just a couple bucks more than you could rent one. I want to look for and get a movie when I'm in the mood to watch one and I've been slowly building up a library of DVDs by buying used copies rather than renting. Blockbuster sometimes had a great 4 for $20 deal and I probably have about 150 DVDs now. The only thing I think competes with going into Blockbuster for me is the Netflix app my dad has (DirecTV?) that allows you to rent and watch movies right there. But, I'd still rather have the physical media.
Amazing how a Black President brought so many racists screaming out their shacks and into every forum on the web. I just can't figure out how so many of them found internet connections.
As an American, I am frightened and angered by suspicious level of knowledge combined with your lack of jingoism. I can only assume that you are on the side of the terrorists. I'm watching you.
But, I watched Breakfast at Tiffany's a few years back with George Peppard as the male lead. He has one of the epically greatest monologues at the end. Kind of a shame that he'll be more remembered for the A-Team than that performance.
This smacks of arrogance. Now, every host wants to show that he can pull as many protesters as Glen Beck's rally did. Even Ed Schultz's pissant show thinks they can draw 100,000.
Don't worry, it'll give you sci-fi snobs another movie to look down your nose at. Of course, while you're standing in line to watch it for the 3rd time, buying the Blu-Ray disk, updating your home theater system to get the most out of the experience, and looking for places on the internet to tell other snobs how much you hated it.
For the past 6 years or so, I would buy the latest greatest phone after my contract ran out. I was close to getting a Droid, then it occurred to me "do I really give a frak about HDMI ports and video on my phone?" I settled with an LG Ally I got for free and got to keep that extra $200 with ZERO regrets. I guess I'll have to stop posting here and watching more Antique's Roadshow now?
Funny that a Pentagon general was lambasted for suggesting the notion, yet a couple internet companies start pushing it as a feature and the public flocks to it. I think I'll start a password storage cloud. Oh wait...
Everyone thinks they can Google for a solution nowadays. Yes, sometimes you can but you sometimes can cause more of a headache for yourself. I'm a political junkie and blogs are filled with people who don't know jack about the issues, but know how to Google for key words in your arguments then search for what their favorite ideological sites have to say. The result is context-less shallow debates where a lot of these people end up doing more "search and post link" and less formulating constructive arguments.
What you're really saying is people who make large salaries commiserate with the income they generate for their employers should STFU and be happy they aren't getting middle class wages or doing working class labor. But, they aren't. Actors make millions because they generate millions. Athletes make millions because they generate BILLIONS. Appreciate them for their talent. And, if you think it's so easy, then by all means try to take one of their cushy jobs from them.
My boss gave me a ziploc bag full of pulled pork from his church barbecue that I took home for lunch today. NOT the imagery you want...
I see a much more enjoyable ride on that web page.
He'll spend a lifetime in that county getting pulled over for crossing the yellow line and not signaling on lane changes.
You might say this website is slowing spiraling down a deep, smelly hole.
American women surprised them all by not cooking anymore.
Whaaa??
Dems WANT you to smoke weed?
Dems WANT FLAG burning?
Dems WANT you to speak out against the government?
Methinks you don't understand the difference between personal freedom and advocacy.

Since some people think the Constitution is only composed of the last half of the 2nd amendment, you would be correct in their eyes.

It's not "older people." I've only heard objections from people who don't like the idea of someone's job disappearing.

Freezing a smuggler who's too quick to jettison his cargo at the first sign of Imperials.
You can only play male gnomes and dwarves.

Give 20 of the best $1 million grants, and I bet you'd have a workable design faster and cheaper
I think the last time was in the 2002 Alabama gubernatorial race.
Pedobear looks for an intro into YOU!

Only in the broadest, generic sense of plot and character type. There wasn't a Millennium Falcon or TIE Interceptor.
