    but you miss his point. they would be denying him Internet access so even if he removes the infected PC from the network, his laptop still wouldnt be able to connect unless he goes elsewhere.

    The summary took the quote slightly out of context. what i understood from TFA is that they are screwed in terms of meeting their (one month?) deadline.

    The team is manifestly out of their depth with regards to web application security, and it is almost certainly impossible for them to gather the required expertise and still hit their timetable for public release in a month.

    Dont ask for the location of the new owner's address... just ask for the location of HIS dog. ( GPS coordinates could work too.) Either way common sense clearly rules this should be a non issue. He should probably sue the data company for accessory to theft or something like that.


    This is like if i install a security/tracking app (like SmartGuart) on MY phone, it gets stolen/lost, then the app company wont tell me where the phone is.
