A used console for half price? Not at ebstop or anywhere else. They might knock off 5-10 bucks at the most. Especially on something so new. 5 years later, they all still sell used ps2's for only $20-$40 less than new.
Can't wait for the "No Resale" logos from Japan to make it over here...But of course if they do, and Gamestop folds (of course they wouldn't, I'm thinking "Licensed Reseller" is where this is all going.) and nobody sells used, will prices on new go down? No.Reason 360 Games start at $60? Dev costs? No, it's the same reason Oil keeps going up. Because they can. Because we'll bitch about it all the way to Gamestop where we preorder the latest-greatest-newest-coolest thing, but we won't actually do someting about it. Of course if we all buy $20 games, EA will just buy exclusive rights to whatever it is and charge $50 for a lame rehash...
I believe that's "A Beouwulf Cluster of Laughs"... Yeah I know, I probably spelled it wrong. On a completely diffrent subject, can we get the XboX topic image changed to a controller-s (if not a 360 controller)? I mean Microsoft hasn't sold one of the old style for what, three years now? I'm willing to bet some serious monopoly money the Playstation topic image will change to the boomerang the second the PS3 is released...
Great, we can fund the "War on Terror" for what, 12 minutes with that? I'm all for the Government making money, I just have no faith that money will ever be spent wisely.
"the clunkers we have, you know Windows and Linux, are 25 years old "
Finally, I woke up this morning, mysteriously transported to the year 2016. Does this mean I can start wearing my jeans inside out? Or was that so last year?
To fix the problem would require going back in time and getting the hardware together sooner. The failures and limited shipments are all due to Microsoft basically sending an email out in February 2005, subject: "We should really get started on that Xbox360 thing..."
Seems to be the norm. Qwest does the same thing. I actually broke into hysterical laughter when I called them to ask if they were serious.
They claimed it was a fee to "block" LD on the line.
I said, "Ok, I don't want a block."
Response?
"So which LD package would you like to sign up for?"
"None"
"So, that'll be a block then"
"..."
Just another reason I have a cell and cable internet...
Geeks haven't gone mainstream? And neither have Duck Decoy Carpenters? Man...
My point is, we true "geeks" specialize in something (math, astronomy, code) whereas the other "minorities" you mention (blacks, gays) merely specialize in being slightly biologically different than the other 80%. And it's not somehing they chose either. It's hard for the average man to relate to us. I mean they can always say, "That guy goes after ass like I do poonanny." And "That guy goes after black poonanny like I do white poonanny." It's kind of hard to equate that to "That guy goes after unsigned code like... I... Do... Aw hell, I'm not like that freak at all..." Of course the whole thing comes down to your definition of "mainstream". When the statements "My boyfriend is black" and "My girlfriend is Gay" No longer are seen as rebellious declaritive statements, but "Oh by the way" statements, can either be called "Mainstream". Damn, I need a dedicated "" key... And a new synonym for pussy...
The market this version is aimed at is not the sort to open their machine for any reason, much less to replace the core componant of their system. Sure it's easy for us to do, but the people who will buy machines with this bundled will never crack the case, unless directed to by tech support (which in India, would be your neighbor most likely...)
You can actually have Sony fix that for free, if you're willing to be without it for 2-3 weeks. Or you can open it yourself and using some compressed air, clean out the crap that's giving you those errors. But ultimately the laser unit will fail. I say make Sony fix their well known defect for free while they still offer it.
and I haven't had a land line since the beginning of '03. Haven't missed it much. never seem to get telemarketers on the cell that I would've had no matter what.
And looking at the rates for net access here...
DSL: 256K: 26.00/mo. + landline: $30.00/mo. total price, 56.00/mo.
Cable?
3000k: 45.00/mo plus I get free basic cable...
Hmmmm....
The main question is: Would Microsoft outsource all software support, (the biggest part of MS's business) to india, argentina, and anybody else willing to work for a dollar an hour to read a script and follow the same five Knowledge Base articles...

Local calls are free? Then what was Qwest charging me for? A $30 "Long Distance Block"?

"Empire Records"
Always infringing upon my Rights! What? This has nothing to do with Rights online or otherwise? Well damn them anyway...

What exactly are we organizing? Oh, yeah, trips to India for our jObs...

And thanks to Matt Groening I can't read the books anymore without thinking of a blind stinking sober Bender unit...
Yeah. FTP? Screw that, I'll just head over to Suprnova... Shit...
"Today Asok the intern learns that life is not like 'Star Trek'."
I would like this sort of world myself, but unfortunately I think Paramount got it right... it's gonna take a couple hundred years.
right click that file, left click install.
SP2, well its a given and does the above.
Winsock? delete winsock.dll. System fixes itself.
Critical fixes? Automatic updates.
Ad-Aware? A given.
Anti virus? Weekly check of housecall.antivirus.com.
Win2k? What the hell ever. Stop using pirated versions of NT5 as an upgrade path from 98.
Firefox, definitely. Unless of course they have to use some proprietary crap. (MSN, AOL, Etc...)
Thunderbird? When it supports http mailboxes and exchange properly.

That's exactly my point, people don't see this as a binding legal document, but it is. That's the problem.

Go back and read that thing you clicked "next" on impatiantly. You bought a license, not a game.

No, SP2 did not break it. Some beta crap did. when SP2 comes out, and if it in fact breaks it, then there's reason to post. But thanks for playing.
