While I agree with everything you said, it doesn't really apply here as there are many alternatives to TiVo's service, while suffering through ads in a game is the ONLY way you'll ever get to play it, sitting through movie previews (practically) the ONLY way to see first-run flicks. But you are right, people do get used to advertising. I barely even pay attention to the Lightspeed Briefs commercials in my dreams nowadays.

I really hope this does kill off TiVo. I never understood why people were willing to pay a monthly fee for this anyway.

GODDAMN IT!! What is wrong with you people?? How many posts do I have to read about Monster cables and audio? Try answering the question posed next time (from the post: I'm setting up my HDTV, and I can get Component video cables made by Belkin for half the price of the Monster cable equivalents.). Sheesh. Thank you for you worthless post.

As far as COMPONENT VIDEO is concerned, Monster cables seem thicker and sturdier than other brands, but there probably isn't much picture quality difference. This may change at super-duper high resolutions, but I think the important part is the fact that you use component cables over RCA (bad) or S-Video (better than RCA, lesser than component). HUGE difference in quality there.

Frankly, I'm not that curious. The smallest chips are $5 pieces (they use silver dollars for lesser amounts), and if I've got a fiver I'm not gonna cash out, that sucker's going on the nearest blackjack table.

Pfft. /. has actually tempered my own hatred of EA (sizable for years now) to the point where I care less about their actions and more about not wanting to read about it here.

CDs are portable and cannot wear down from continued play (still to be seen what happens with age...). They certainly are NOT better than vinyl in fidelity. CDs are digital and chop off the top and bottom of a sound wave. Granted, these are extremely high and low registers, but if you set up one room with, say, Dark Side of the Moon on vinyl, and another room playing it on CD, the vinyl room sounds much fuller and more immersive. You want proof, google around. I can't be bothered.

Do you realize how much money those scumbags make from selling cam movies on the street, even at only $5 a pop? It's pure profit and it's completely, undeniably stealing.
