Scary.... quite a few of those comments were about how well iTunes worked compare to its competition. I can't remember a time when iTunes wasn't a geriatric slideshow.
I remember seeing a study a few years ago that said the supermarkets actually lost money using the self-checkout instead of a human. What happened was people bought less crap from the last mile (ie. gum, magazine) when using the self-checkout. Even when taking into account for the cost of a cashier, the self checkouts was generally less money for the supermarkets.
Too late: I've already started to recommend LibreOffice to people moving from Office 2003. It's free, it's doesn't have the learning curve of Office 2007/2010. And unless you're doing some complicated Excel sheets, LibreOffice works fine for spreadsheets.
No direction: If the community has moved to LibreOffice, who's left supporting and maintaining OpenOffice?
Here's the summary of the conversation: Him: dude, it's happened again. Me: too much porn man. Him: I didn't do anything, even used Chrome and Firefox Me: which site did you go to? Him: it's my office computer, I can't look at porn here. Me: OK, maybe there's not enough porn on your computer.
being a former SONY VAIO owner I can tell you I don't know how SONY does it but they make HP laptops seem reliable. I've never had so many heat related problems. I had to start carry a laptop fan with my laptop if I didn't want that thing to crash after a couple hours of use.
My old college roommate was offered a job at Intel Itanium's unit after finishing his PhD in compiler theory. He turned it down because "life's too short to spend it fixing Itanium."
I'm going to download it so I can write a review. Here's the preview:
"**** awesome app. I was blowing random dudes at gas stations but after 3 days of using this app I'm down to finding Justin Bieber attractive. With constant use, I hope by next week I'll like boobs."
You're trying to correct a made up fictional plot device? That's why midichlorian is terrible because Lucas tried to explain the Force with sentient microscopic life.
I vote for the midichlorians as the worst thing from Episode 1. I remember how I felt and how everyone in the theater reacted on the first day of showing when Liam Neeson was explaining the midichlorians. It was like getting punched by your best friend after he told you he slept with your sister.
I hope in another universe Lucas didn't make Episode 1-3, and left Episode 4 in their original state where Han shot first and Hayden Christensen was not the ghost at the end of Episode 6.
because it took 18 years of computer progress to go from a computer that cost $120,000 (in 1960 money) to $3,000? (1979 money) for the arcade cabinet. I'm guessing on the price of the arcade cabinet because they were usually $3,000 to $5,000 back in the 1990s.
I'm with you on that. I paid $800 for my first 1600 x 1200, 21 inch monitor. Completely worth the price. I'm more than willing to pay that much again for a 24+ inch with 2K resolution.
Hmmm... I'm trying to think of dumber things: Itanium, Rambus, 486SX/487, Pentium bug when they tried to save a little silicon space, and selling XScale. It's hard to save if this is the dumbest thing but it certainly is up there.
That's my point, they had a lot of engineers for CPU but little result to show for it. I assume not every one of those engineers was working on the Niagara and the many cores approach.

ExFAT is pretty good. It's like NTFS but works more than just Windows.
It hasn't been hacked YET. Or at least you believe it hasn't been hacked.
My bet is that the NSA and/or DARPA is working on something to hack your brain.

What's the theory? How does it "expand" on relativity?

Talk about being lazy. I use Ophcrack to recover Windows password at the office all the times.

You fail at Star Wars knowledge.
It's spelled "mitochloroplastondrion", not "midichlorian".
Not according to Wookieepedia.

I really didn't needed it to be thinner, I needed it to be lighter. 1.3 lbs is still too heavy to carry single handed like a writing pad.

Coming? It's already there. Search the Marketplace, there are already security applications. I think there's one from AVG.
Apple saying that you can't sell for a lower price than what you sell in our store. Or Amazon having complete control over pricing.

Isn't that like looking for a virgin in a whorehouse?
Sure, there are a few solutions around but none of it is completely pirate-proof. Pirates will always pirate.
I thought we've verify the efficiency of single line queue for many years.

I'm more concern about the data on the computer than preventing a thief from using it. Unless it can remote wipe the hard drive, I'm not interested.
I always thought that women would get rid of men first, never thought that men would get rid of women first.
I don't look forward to a future without a home cooked meal. But at least, less DWTS on TV.
