Developers on both sides of the fence tend to take what they like best about the other and incorporate it into their own.
Take the the desktop GUI for example. Despite what many people think about M$ they did create a fairly easy to use and consistant user interface. Both KDE and Gnome keep implementing the little things that will help them be more consistant and useable. (they have come a long way!)
Perhaps what M$ hopes to learn is not only about the kernel as stated in the article, but how Linux does things in general. The current root/user paradigm seems to work a whole lot better if you ask me than to give Grandma root privs on her Windows machine only to have her accidently delete something pretty critical because an E-mail said to.
Bottom line is there is a lot to learn on both sides of the fence.
Well, if this isn't an April fools prank then its too late. I like many of you got really po'ed at that crippled desktop crap.
I've jumped ship and switched to Gentoo, and KDE 3.1 for my desktop. So no more RH for me. Maybe...just maybe if they released a non-gimped desktop then I might reconsider using the distro again. But honestly, I've come to REALLY like emerge.
Basically a little virtual nudity and profanity is bad but beatiality is good? hmmm...thats ba-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-d

I mean, if someone were actually serious about creating a Jedi religion, what would it look like? What would be the set of core beliefs? Would it be Christian based? Jewish? Islamic? What? Would it even have anything in common with those religions?
I guess the theory would be to take all of the known best attributes that were gleened from the movies and books and try to create a belief system out of them and use that as the basis as your religion.
Would there be two different Jedi sects? One for followers of the Jedi faith that were good and one for those that were bad? Would members of the faith be called, "Padawans" and the clergy called "Jedi Knights"? Who would hold the rank of "Jedi Master" and would that be the equivlent of say an Arch bishop or some such? Would the governing body of the Jedi church be the "Grand Jedi Council"?
Could we expect to see a "First Church of the Jedi Order" or a "Church of the Vengful Dark Jedi"?
I know this may be silliness, but I'm curious. What would everyone else see as being part of a Jedi religion so that it could actually become a real entity?
I too would like more information on this with regards to West Virginia. Its not that I don't believe you, its that I would like to share this with my wife who is a high school librarian. And she likes to have lots of information.
Would you happen to have any links or magazine articles that you could refer me to?
Well, I've seen the first movie and thought that it was pretty entertaining. What you have to remember is that we all have different likes and disklikes when it comes to stuff like this.
While I enjoyed the first movie and thought that the Benny character was my favorite. (Just weasly and funny) I do not think that its a work of art.
I will see the second movie and make the judgement call for myself. There are several movies that people said sucked that I have enjoyed and there are movies that were supposed to be great but in my opinion sucked.
Ok ok I think everyone pretty much agrees that Battlefield Earth REALLY REALLY did suck.
I originally had the skip problem. However, it is not related to the RIO. I pursued the issue and checked out the Music Match Jukebox website and they mention that the problem is probably the CD-ROM. Not all CD-ROMs have the circuitry (Don't ask, I don't have a clue as to what ciruitry) to handle the high MP3 sample rates.
I was using WinAmp to play the MP3Z from and they would skip and speed up without end.
Well, as a test, I tried to record some CDs I own from my HP 7110i CD-RW and low and behold, perfect!
Ditto here, I'll even supply my own AR-15 as long as I can get some FI issue kevlar and ammo.

...if this will all work out. Personally I would love to have a fuel cell car myself.
People who have bought Lindows PCs are not going to want to spend yet another $50 bux on something that their computer does for them already.
From what I've seen the concept is to eliminate the M$ tax and make the machine as cheap as possible...this kinda defeats the purpose for the user.

Sorry in my haste I accidently hit the submit button rather then preview and the link was messed up.

WinAmp AND my RIO play them flawlessly at 128.
Hope this helps
